Suzuki Access 125 First Ride: Why So Affordable?

We didn’t know what to expect in our first ride impression of the Suzuki Access 125.

After doing a detailed review of the Avenis and Burgman, we figured that Access 125 wouldn’t be any different.

Much to our surprise, the initial experience seems pretty different.

In a way it makes sense, the Suzuki Access 125 is priced at Rs. 2.65 Lakhs.

The asking price is way more reasonable compared to the other Suzuki siblings. If so, is there any hidden cost-cutting?

We will find those answers in our Full Review. Until then, this is the First Ride Impression of the Suzuki Access 125.

Design

Compared with BS4 and BS6, the design familiarity is still there.

Suzuki Access 125 is based on European Design Trends, for a classical feel and retro vibes.

In retrospect with the modern and aggressively styled scooters, the Access 125 comes across as refreshing.

There are noticeable crease lines to help the scooter stand out.

The front section comes with a trapezoidal-shaped headlamp with a new LED headlamp. Moreover, the side indicators are the body-integrated with the bulbed DRL.

It still gets the longer seat with the longer footboard.

Furthermore, it now comes with a new Digital-Analog Meter with Eco-Assist Illumination.

We will talk about this feature in detail in our Full Review.

The rear profile comes with a Halogen Tail Light along with integrated Side Lights. There is a subtle chrome finish within the housing.

But that’s not all. Suzuki has included another chrome finish on the external fuel cap as well.

Suzuki Access 125 is available in five different colors: White, Silver, Grey, Blue, and Black.

Performance

Suzuki Access 125 BS6 is powered by a Single-Cylinder, 2-valve, Air-cooled, SOHC, FI engine. It generates a max power of 8.7PS at 6750rpm and a max torque of 10Nm at 5500rpm.

Moreover, it is mated to a CVT transmission with a 5-liter fuel tank capacity.

The new FI engine follows the BS6-emission standard.

Like all Suzuki products, it comes with the Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP). However, it only includes Easy Start System as the FI feature.

That’s right!

There is no Automatic Start-Stop System, no Silent Start, and no Side Stand Engine Cut Off. Except for the Side Stand Engine Cut Off, every other feature was also absent in the Avenis and Burgman.

So, the ride quality and engine refinement remind me a lot of the reviewed Suzuki scooters.

The engine is super smooth and the vibrations are minimal.

There is considerable part sharing between the Suzuki scooters, which includes ground clearance, lightweight body, and components.

The resemblance of the ride quality is there.

I am still pessimistic about the rear 10-inch tyre. Moreover, the suspension does feel stiffer side.

Now, the question is what is different?

So far, I haven’t found anything specified yet. If there is no difference between Access 125 and its siblings, then it would mean that Access 125 is a more reasonable sibling.

However, I am confident that there is something that does not meet the eye.

We will explore that in our Full Review.

Additional Details

Telescopic Fork and Mono Shock Swing Arm handle the suspension duties.

The dimensions are 1870mm in length, 690mm in width, and 1160mm in height. Moreover, the wheelbase sits at 1265mm.

Suzuki Avenis 125 comes with a 160mm ground clearance. And, the kerb weight is 103kg.

It sports a 22.3–liter massive under-seat storage.

Features

We will talk about its features in detail in our review article. Until then, here is a quick list of features in the new Suzuki Access 125.

However, I don’t want to raise expectations to set myself up for disappointment. So, I will wait until I complete my testing on the Suzuki Access 125.

Suzuki Access 125 FI rivals Yamaha Fascino 125 FI.

Both feature similar retro aesthetics, features, and a new FI engine at a similar price point.

So, we will take this under consideration when we battle them out.

Until then, this is the Suzuki Access 125 First Ride.
