After, teasing 7 secret products Xiaomi has now launched the Redmi 9 in Nepal. This is one of the first products to be revealed among 7 other products which will be revealed in the coming days.
Redmi 9 Price in Nepal is Rs. 16,999 for the 3/32GB variant and Rs. 17,999 for the 4/64GB variant. It will be available via Mi offline stores and Sastodeal from 2nd August.

Redmi 9 Overview
Design
Redmi 9 looks very different from the Redmi 8. It has a quad camera on the back along with a fingerprint sensor. The camera module is inside of a unique circular design that looks quite good.
The back is made up of plastic and the frame is plastic too. And, it has anti-fingerprint texture on the back. The picture shows the pink/blue gradient version which looks very pleasant.
On the front, it has a dot drop notch with minimal bezels and a thin chin.
Display
Redmi 9 has a 6.53 inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. It’s the first time that the entry-level budget phone of Redmi is getting an FHD screen.
The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and Xiaomi claims max brightness of 400 nits.
Hardware
Redmi 9 uses the new Mediatek Helio G80 chipset. It’s a 12nm chipset with Octa-core (2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55) CPU and Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. Then, it has 3GB RAM/32GB ROM and 64GB ROM/4GB RAM memory configuration.
It’s the same chipset used on the Realme 6i. Also, the Helio G85 used on the Redmi Note 9 performs similarly to the G80.
So, Redmi 9 is getting a very good performance leap over its predecessor, Redmi 8.
Camera
In terms of camera, Redmi 9 has a 13MP f/2.2 main sensor, 8MP f/2.2 Ultrawide angle sensor, 5MP macro sensor, and 2MP depth sensor.
On the front, it has an 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera.
Battery
It runs on a 5020 mAh battery with 18W fast charging. The battery should easily last more than a day. Xiaomi claims 185 hours of music playback, 31 hours of calling, and 19 hours of video playback.
Furthermore, it runs on MIUI 12 on top of Android 10. And, it has a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.

Redmi 9 is a major upgrade over Redmi 8. Helio G80 is a is a big step up that provides up to 107% performance improvement. Then, it has a quad-camera setup which looks more than good enough.
There’s a massive improvement in all departments and it’s impressive that they have gone for G80 processor which is used on the likes of Realme 6i.
Redmi 9 undercuts all of the budget phones. It even beats the recently launched Realme C3 by some margin. It is hands down the best budget phone available in Nepal right now.
