Dashian with MI: Xiaomi’s 5 Surprises
#Surprise No. 1
Any guesses for this surprise? Well, the first surprise on this list is price drop on one of its most successful mid-range smartphone, the Redmi Note 7. The previous price of the device was Rs 21,999 for 3/32GB variant. Now, under this campaign, it’s price has dropped to Rs 19,999. Even after almost 6 months of its release, it’s a great phone for this price. If you wish to know more about the phone, do check it this link.
# Surprise No. 2
The second surprise of the campaign is the launch of the Xiaomi’s Mi A3. The Mi A3 is a perfect mid-ranger with one of the best overall configurations under Rs. 28,000.
It’s got a 6.01” Super AMOLED screen with HD resolution. Under the hood, the Mi A3 packs a Snapdragon 665 processor. Not exactly the best processor, but overall a well-balanced performer. It runs on Android One on top of Android Pie. A very sleek and clean UI which is easy to use. A triple rear camera setup on the rear consisting of a 48MP Sony IMX 586 paired with an 8MP ultrawide and 2MP depth sensor. The camera shots are quite impressive and livelier in the Mi A3. The phone is powered by a 4030 battery which should quite easily last about a day.
For the campaign, this device is currently priced at Rs 23,999 for the 4/64GB variant and Rs 27,999 for the 6/128GB variant. If you wish to know more about the phone, do check it out from this link.
# Surprise No. 3
The 3rd surprise is a price drop in one of the most appreciated phones in the budget segment, the Redmi 7A.
Key specifications of the device include a 5.45” IPS LCD display with FHD resolution. Underneath, the device houses an octa-core snapdragon 439 processor paired with 2GB RAM with 16/32GB storage. Also, the phone runs on MIUI 10 on top of Android 9.
There’s a single 13MP rear camera which is capable of getting some really good shots. Furthermore, the device has a 12MP selfie camera which is pretty good actually. The most noteworthy feature about the device is probably the 4000mAh battery life which should easily last about a day with average usage and a 2-year warranty that comes along with it.
The previous pricing of the device was Rs 11,499 for 2/32GB. In this campaign, this device has been priced for Rs 10,999. If you wish to find out more about the device, check it out this link.
# Surprise No. 4
The surprise no. 4 consists of a phone that is the best in its class, the Redmi 7.
The phone has a 6.26” IPS LCD display which supports HD+ resolution. The processor which drives this device is the Octa-core Snapdragon 632 paired with a 2/3/4GB RAM combination along with 16/32/64GB storage. Powering the device is a 4000mAh battery, which is definitely the best aspect of the device in my opinion. The rear houses a 12MP sensor mated with a 2MP depth sensor. As we’ve seen from previous tests, the camera is capable of getting some amazing photos with great details and color combinations. Finally, the front houses an 8MP selfie camera, which does feel a little short but handles the job pretty well.
The previous price of the device was Rs 14,999 for 2/32GB and Rs 16,999 for the 3/32GB variant. In this campaign, the price has been reduced to Rs 13,999 for the 2/32GB variant and Rs 15,999 for the 3/32Gb variant. If you wish to know more about the device, check it this link.
# Surprise No. 5
This last surprise consists of price drop on a robust Xiaomi’s budget smartphone: Redmi Y3. The phone isn’t entirely the best in its category. Mostly it’s an upgraded version of the Redmi 7, but still, it does have some great features that makes it a good phone.
Specifications wise, it has a 6.26” IPS LCD screen with an HD resolution support. Underneath, the phone consists of Snapdragon 632 processor paired with 3/4GB along with 32/64GB storage. The memory and processor are paired with a 4000mAh battery that should last the phone for a day easily with average usage. The rear consists of a dual-camera setup with primary 12MP sensor mated with a 2MP depth sensor. Whereas, the front camera is a 32MP sensor.
The previous price of the device was Rs 17,999 for the 3/32GB variant and Rs 20,999 for the 4/64GB variant. In this campaign, the price has been lowered down to Rs 16,999 for 3/32GB variant and Rs 19,999 for 4/64GB. If you wish to know more about the phone, read our review here.
Overall
Out of all these surprises, the ones that mostly caught my interest were the launch of Mi A3 and the price drop in Redmi Note 7. Both these phones were among the most anticipated devices this year, and on the given prices are the best bang for the buck.
