Xiaomi unveiled its top-of-the-line flagship, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, on 2 March 2025, flaunting top-tier imaging capabilities. The phone will likely arrive in the Nepali market as well, further spicing the flagship segment.
What is the price of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra in Nepal?
Xiaomi 15 Ultra was launched on 27 February 2025 in its home country, China. The international market soon followed suit, launching the phone at the MWC event held in Barcelona.
The Nepali wing of the company was actively promoting the launch event, which could be a hint that the phone is slated to arrive in Nepal as well!
Now, what might its price be? Well, it starts at £1,299 in the UK. Keeping that in mind, let’s try and figure out what the tentative price of Xiaomi 15 Ultra might be in Nepal.
For this, I will refer to the price of Xiaomi 14, which is Rs. 99,999 and £899 in Nepal and the UK for the 12/512GB variant, respectively.
Given that, the price of Xiaomi 15 Ultra in Nepal could be Rs. 1,44,999 (16/512GB) and Rs. 166,999 (16GB/1TB).
Well, that landed quite a bit lower than what I expected. If it turned out to be true, it would wreak havoc on the flagship space as we know it.
However, if its price falls in line with the competition — around Rs. 1,80,000 — the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will still emerge as the best flagship phone in Nepal.
After all, its camera prowess could trade blows with the Vivo X200 Pro, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite helps bridge the slight performance gap that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra previously held over Vivo.
You might have already gotten a slight idea of how big of a deal this phone is. Let’s discuss the Xiaomi 15 Ultra in even more detail.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra Overview
Camera
Like every other Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi has focused tremendously on the cameras of its Ultra offering. After all, we are dealing with some bonkers number over here.
Firstly, it has a four-camera setup, which includes a primary camera, two telephoto (one standard and one periscope), and an ultrawide.
Main Camera
The primary snapper here is a 50MP unit, which sounds alright, nothing extraordinary. However, there is a massive 1-inch Sony LYT-900 sensor underneath. Furthermore, the phone bins four pixels together to create one super pixel sized 3.2μm.
These figures are higher than usual, and what it does is preserve details better. As a result, photos captured with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s primary camera should retain more details compared to other smartphones.
Periscope Telephoto
Next is a 200MP periscope telephoto that takes the largest space among all the cameras. It also has a relatively large sensor at 1/1.4-inch with a 2.24μm super pixel.
It is specifically there for portraits and shoots at a focal length equivalent to 100mm, which comes out at 4.3x.
Regular Telephoto and Ultrawide
Then, there is another telephoto lens and an ultrawide shooter, 50MP each. Xiaomi does not specify the sensor size on either of them.
However, the telephoto snapper takes images at an equivalent 70mm. In other words, it is a 3x camera. Meanwhile, the ultrawide is 14mm equivalent or 0.6x.
Both of them are capable of macro shots with 10cm and 5cm focus distance, respectively.
More on camera
Additionally, all the cameras, apart from the ultrawide, are capable of optical image stabilisation.
Xiaomi also equipped the camera system on the 15 Ultra with a 13-channel multi-spectral sensor, which helps reproduce colours on the photos more accurately.
Given that the Leica partnership is still strong, we continue to get the Leica photographic styles, filters, shutter sounds, and watermark on this phone.
Videography
The videography side of things is great too, offering high-quality recording of up to 8K@30fps. It can also take 10-bit Log videos at 4K@60fps and cinematic slow motion at 4K@120fps.
If you are big on slow motion, you can go haywire up to 1,920fps — though the resolution is capped at 1080p.
Design and Build
With all the words I’ve spent on talking about the camera, you can definitely tell the phone is pretty big on its camera, even with its design.
Xiaomi isn’t shying away from it either, calling the design of the 15 Ultra “camera-inspired”. The large camera island is a clear giveaway for this, which is layered with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i for added protection.
It is even more apparent with the Silver Chrome colour option, with a dual-tone dual-texture finish. The silver part is made of glass fibre, while the black part is PU leather. With this, the phone evokes the looks of a retro-style camera like the Fujifilm X-E4.
The Black and White options are more in line with a modern-day smartphone look and have glass for their back panels. This isn’t to say they are boring or anything, as both have a little design of flair to stand out.
The black one flaunts a subtle red ascent around the camera deco, while the white one has silk-like patterns across its back.
All the options feature a flat frame made of 6M42 aluminium, are IP68-rated, and have curved edges and display.

Display
Talking of the display, it is a 6.73-inch AMOLED panel with WQHD+ resolution and 522 PPI pixel density. It has 12-bit colour depth (68 billion colours) and covers the DCI-P3 colour space.
Likewise, it features a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, a touch sampling rate of up to 300Hz, and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. It also features PWM dimming up to 1,920Hz and DC dimming for low and high brightness scenarios, respectively.
The Xioami 15 Ultra display is triple TÜV Rheinland certified for hardware-level low blue light, flicker-free, and circadian-friendly. It is also equipped with Wet touch technology, offering undisturbed touch response even when the display or your fingers are covered with water.
Lastly, the display is protected by Xiaomi Shield Glass 2.0, which is apparently 25% more drop-resistant than its predecessor (14 Ultra)
Hardware
Moving on to the hardware, we have the Snapdragon 8 Elite at the centre stage. You might already know it by now: this processor is blazing fast and crazy powerful.
Configuration-wise, we are getting 16GB LPDDR5X-8533Mbps RAM coupled with either 512GB or 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. Sadly, no mention of the revolutionary “Ultra Space” technology we saw on the Xiaomi 14T.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra also features the Xiaomi 3D dual-channel IceLoop system with a heat dissipation unit of 5100mm² area and a depression where the processor sits.
Battery and Software
Keeping everything powered is a 5,410mAh Xiaomi Surge Battery with silicon anode. The Chinese tech giant has taken a similar approach to the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ here, reducing the battery size for global markets while reserving the larger 6,000mAh cell for its home audience.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra supports 90W wired charging, while its wireless capability is just as rapid at 80W. Yes, the wireless power delivery on this phone is nearly as fast as its wired counterpart.
In terms of software, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra boots on the Xiaomi HyperOS 2 based on Android 15. The AI features on this phone include AI Writing, AI Speech Recognition, AI Interpreter, AI Search, and AI Dynamic Wallpapers.
Among these features, AI Search appears to be the most useful, gathering all relevant files on your phone in one place based on your search keyword.
The AI shenanigans are complete with Gemini integration, featuring Gemini Overlay, Gemini Live, Image Generation, Gemini Extensions, and, of course, the beloved Circle to Search.
