Xiaomi 14 Overview
Design
Overall, the compact design of the Xiaomi 14 remains largely the same compared to its predecessor, the Xiaomi 13.
The only noticeable change is the rear camera bump. The square-shaped camera bump is now even bigger than before and is surrounded by a textured metal wall. Xiaomi says it was inspired by Cloud de Paris — a specific type of guilloché pattern found on watch dials.
Additionally, the subtle lines on the protective glass cover have been removed for a much cleaner look, and the positions of the camera lenses and the design of the flash module have been updated.
Other than that, the phone retains the flat, boxy metal sides and curved back of its predecessor, with the volume and power buttons positioned in the same place. Additionally, the SIM card tray, USB-C port, and speaker grille remain in their original positions from the Xiaomi 13.

However, there are other subtle changes. The top side of the device is now cleaner, achieved by relocating the speaker to the display and the IR blaster to the camera island. Moreover, the phone is IP68-certified for protection against dust and water.
Display
Xiaomi 14 comes with a smaller-than-usual 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED display that can switch between a refresh rate of 1 and 120Hz. It has a resolution of 1200 x 2670 pixels and is certified HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.
The display has a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera and is surrounded by even bezels on all sides. The display also houses an optical fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.
The substrate used for the display is a Huaxing C8 display manufactured by TCL that can reach a peak brightness of 3000nits. The display also uses DC dimming instead of PWM dimming for brightness control, which is said to be more comfortable on the eyes. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
Hardware
Hardware is where the Xiaomi 14 truly shines. The CPU used on this device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It consists of one 3.3 GHz Cortex-X4 high-performance core, 3x 3.2 GHz Cortex-A720 and 2x 3.0 GHz Cortex-A720 premium-efficiency cores, and lastly, 2x 2.3 GHz Cortex-A520 high-efficiency cores. The graphics is handled by an Adreno 720 GPU.
This is Qualcomm’s flagship processor that can handle pretty much anything while also being extremely efficient as well. The chip can play any mobile game on the highest setting. The chip also supports ray tracing on compatible games.
To hold all the data for processing, the Xiaomi 14 comes with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. The device, however, does not support a microSD card for storage expansion.
Cameras
Xiaomi 14 comes with a triple camera setup on the rear. In recent years, the company has heavily invested in the quality of its mobile photography. This year too, Xiaomi has collaborated with Leica to tune the Xiaomi 14’s camera with Leica Summilux optical lenses.
The main camera is a 50MP, f/1.6 lens that is optically stabilized. The sensor used on the camera is Light Fusion 900, which is a Xiaomi-custom image sensor boasting up to 13.5 EV of dynamic range. The ultrawide camera has been upgraded to 50MP and has a 115° field of view and f/2.2 aperture lens.
Finally, the telephoto camera is also a 50MP, f/2.0 camera that has OIS and also has a minimum focus distance of just 10cm for macro photography. The rear camera can record videos up to 8K resolution at 24fps or up to 4K at 60fps while recording HDR videos with Dolby Vision.
The front selfie camera is a 32MP, f/2.0 lens that can record up to 4K at 60fps or 1080p at 30fps for HDR video recording with Dolby Vision.
Battery and OS
To power the smartphone, Xiaomi has included a 4610mAh Li-Po battery that supports QC4 and PD 3.0. Xiaomi has stated that the battery can charge fully in 31 mins with 90W fast charging support. The device also supports 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
The Xiaomi 14 comes with Android 14 out-of-the-box with Xiaomi HyperOS skin applied on top.
