They claimed that they hacked the websites and leaked information from the sites to mock the <a href=\"https:\/\/techlekh.com\/tag\/security\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cyber security<\/a> of those sites.<\/li>\n<li>The hacked websites mostly included those from <a href=\"https:\/\/techlekh.com\/tag\/government\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">government<\/a> agencies, schools, and companies based in the Philippines, and abroad including <a href=\"https:\/\/techlekh.com\/tag\/india\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">India<\/a>, Brazil, Argentina, Bangladesh, and Vietnam.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>One More Thing:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Two other government websites of Nepal were recently hacked by the same group: <a href=\"https:\/\/nepalpassport.gov.np\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Passports<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moljpa.gov.np\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>These sites have been restored already.<\/li>\n<li>Just recently, the <a href=\"https:\/\/techlekh.com\/tag\/facebook\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> page of <a href=\"https:\/\/techlekh.com\/tag\/nt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nepal Telecom<\/a> has been <a href=\"https:\/\/techlekh.com\/ntc-facebook-page-hacked\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deleted after suspected hacking<\/a> (not by the same group).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Why it Matters:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>This goes on to show how poorly Internet security is regarded by the government when the apex body to promote science and technology has its website compromised.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Editor&#8217;s Recommendations<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/techlekh.com\/ntc-facebook-page-hacked\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>NTC Facebook Page (Possibly) Hacked<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/techlekh.com\/threat-report-2017-cyber-security-nepal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Threat Report 2017: Current State and Vulnerability of Cyber Security of Nepal<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/techlekh.com\/nepali-websites-host-phishing-pages\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nepali Websites Being Compromised to Host Phishing Pages<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The official website of National Academy of Science and Technology has been hacked.\u00a0The\u00a0Filipino black hat hacking group PinoyLulzSec\u00a0has claimed that they were responsible for the hack.
