Qualcomm<\/strong> announced their new Snapdragon 845<\/strong> SoC at the Snapdragon Summit. The second annual summit was held in Hawaii on December 05, 2017. The event is set to last until Thursday, December 07.<\/p>\n Next year, this processor will power major flagship smartphones. Xiaomi announced its plan to include the Snapdragon 845 in their smartphone. Consequently, Xiaomi Mi 7 will be the first smartphone to include this chip. Major smartphone manufacturers will follow Mi\u2019s footsteps, to include this chip in their flagship models. You will see this same chip on the next flagships from Samsung<\/a>, LG, Motorola, OnePlus<\/a> and several other devices.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Speakers from Qualcomm’s ecosystem partners like HP, AMD, ASUS, Xiaomi, Microsoft, Samsung, and Sprint took the stage to announce their partnership with Qualcomm. The new Snapdragon mobile processor will enable the all-new “always-connected pc”. The always-connected pc will allow the laptops to be connected to a gigabit LTE network anywhere & anytime.<\/p>\n ES Jung, president and general manager of the foundry business, Samsung Electronics, confirmed that Samsung Foundry will be the foundry for Snapdragon 845 as the Companies continue to work together to advance the silicon manufacturing process.<\/p>\n To highlight Qualcomm Technologies\u2019 commitment to the China ecosystem, Amon was joined by Xiaomi Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer, Lei Jun. Mr. Lei emphasized Xiaomi\u2019s close relationship with Qualcomm Technologies in the premium tier and announced that Xiaomi\u2019s next flagship smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 845.<\/p>\n The successor to Snapdragon 835, the new chip will focus more on certain areas. Areas like Mobile VR, artificial intelligence, global wireless experience, data security, and power efficiency. The chip will be 10nm in size, similar to its predecessor. It will also feature X50 modem with 5G connection support. Mostly used in high-end devices, Snapdragon 845 is expected to be used on Windows 10 laptops too.
