WorldLink Communications Ltd., the largest internet service provider (ISP) in Nepal, has announced a partnership with Facebook Connectivity using their Express Wi-Fi platform to provide fast, affordable, and reliable Wi-Fi service to its users.
This partnership is supposed to further strengthen and support 7,500 locations out of its existing 100,000 Wi-Fi hotspot locations across Nepal which has been serving more than half a million users per month.
“The Express Wi-Fi platform will improve our public Wi-Fi service and contribute to our vision to connect everyone, anywhere, all the time with fast, reliable, and affordable internet services,” says Mr. Dileep Agrawal, Chairman and Managing Director, WorldLink.

Worldlink Wi-Fi Hotspot & Facebook Express Wi-Fi
WorldLink Communications has been providing Free Wi-Fi in public places where users can use Wi-Fi hotspot service in various locations all over Nepal irrespective of their ability to pay or not. This service has been helpful in extending the reach of the internet. As of Ashad 2077, the Mobile broadband penetration rate of Nepal is 55.3% according to WorldLink.
Initially, Facebook’s Express Wi-Fi was introduced to boost the rural area connectivity under the WorldLink’s public Wi-Fi platform. It helped to provide free public wifi in remote places like Halseshi Mahadev, Rasuwagadhi, and etc without paying any cost using WorldLink’s Network.
After the successful implementation of Express Wi-Fi in rural areas, WorldLink converted existing hotspot locations in urban areas to Express-Wi-Fi as well.

While it involved users to request OTP each time to connect to the hotspot at first. The process has been trimmed down after using Facebook’s Express Wi-Fi platform to make it more accessible and hassle-free.
Due to Express Wi-Fi’s innovative technology, prompt support, user-friendly platform, and positive feedback from existing users it added fuel to fire for our Public Wi-Fi service initiative says Worldlink.
Further, they say that they are continuously trying to expand this service to new areas in the future so that no one remains unconnected in this digital world.
