Vivo Y15s Overview
Design
The Vivo Y15s has a design that is comparable to that of any entry-level phone in 2021. It sports a rectangular camera configuration and a plastic rear with a textured finish.
On the bottom side of the phone, you’ll find a headphone jack, a micro USB port, and a mono speaker. The fingerprint sensor is located on the power button, which is located on the right side next to the volume buttons.

Display
The phone features a 6.51-inch IPS LCD display called the Halo Fullview by Vivo. It’s the typical type of display found in almost every entry-level phone.
The HD+ resolution is not the sharpest display out there, but it is something many people may not notice unless they are looking for it. The waterdrop notch and a large chin are something we are all used to seeing on budget phones like this.
Hardware
The new Vivo Y15s is equipped with the not-so-new MediaTek Helio P35 chipset. It’s the same octa-core chipset found in Vivo’s other budget phones, including the Vivo Y1s and Vivo Y21. For the memory, the smartphone has 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
The chipset has a PowerVR GE8320 GPU and eight of the same Arm Cortex-A53 cores, but four of them are clocked at 2.35 GHz and the others at 1.8 GHz. It’s a three-year-old entry-level chipset, which at the time was considered a fairly good SoC for the price.
However, after three years since its launch, this chipset is starting to show its age. The chipset is only capable of performing light activities, and even then, the phone may lag when multitasking. You may be able to play some light games on the lowest settings, but you’ll have to deal with the lag and unresponsiveness.
Camera
It has a dual-camera setup on the rear comprising a 13MP main camera and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, it has an 8MP selfie camera.
Budget phones are notorious for having average or poor camera performance. We don’t know if the Vivo Y15s will make a difference; all we can do now is hope for the best.
Battery and Others
The phone includes a 5000 mAh battery and charges via a micro USB port.
For an entry-level phone with only an HD+ screen, the huge battery inside should easily provide a full day of battery life. However, the fact that it only supports 10W charging suggests that charging will take a lengthy time.
On the software side of things, it comes with Android 11 Go Edition with Funtouch OS 11.1 on top.

The Vivo Y15s is another budget phone from Vivo that features the same entry-level MediaTek Helio P35 processor. It still uses the outdated micro USB port and supports only 10W charging, while its competitors are offering a USB Type-C port and at least 18W fast charging support.
The phone also runs on Android 11 Go, which is a stripped-down version of the Android 11 OS.
The device’s price is another significant letdown. The phone’s specifications do not justify its Rs. 19,999 price tag; it is clearly overpriced.
