vivo V40 Lite 4G with Snapdragon 685 and 50MP Camera Launched in Nepal

Vivo has launched the vivo V40 Lite 4G in Nepal. It is yet another addition to the V40 series after vivo V40 5G.

The vivo V40 Lite is the successor of the vivo V30 Lite which was launched on April 14, 2024. The upgraded V40 lite features a 120Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 685 chipset, a 50MP main camera with AI Aura Light Portrait, and 80W fast charging.

Vivo V40 Lite 4G Overview

Design

The vivo V40 has an ultra-slim design with 7.79mm thickness combined with a sleek metallic high-gloss frame. Meanwhile, the rear panel is made of plastic and features an exclusive Mineral Facet texture on the Emerald Green variant.

V40 Lite features a sleeker and more compact camera island compared to the V30 Lite, vivo calls it the Cushion-Cut Diamond camera. For protection, vivo V40 Lite comes with an IP64 dust and water rating.

The V40 Lite boasts an optical in-display fingerprint sensor and it is available in two colors: Titanium Silver and Emerald Green.

Display

The 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel of the V40 Lite is similar to its predecessor. The AMOLED panel has a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The display panel of the V40 Lite has a peak brightness of 1800 nits and a 1200 nits HBM. However, it doesn’t come with any kind of HDR support.

Hardware

The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 chipset, the same chipset inside the vivo V30 Lite. The 6nm chipset has an 8-core CPU (4x 2.8 GHz Cortex-A73 cores and 4x 1.9 GHz Cortex-A53 cores) and Adreno 720 GPU.

In addition, vivo V40 Lite is equipped with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. Likewise, it also comes with an extended RAM feature.

Cameras

Moving on to imaging, vivo V40 Lite features a dual camera setup. There’s a 50MP main camera (IMX882) on the rear accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor.

On the front, V40 Lite houses a 32MP selfie camera inside a punch-hole cutout. However, it misses out on an ultrawide camera.

The V40 Lite also comes with vivo’s AI Aura Light Portrait seen on the V40 5G. The AI Aura Light flash intelligently recognizes and adjusts color temperature for better low-light portraits. Along with this, it also has new imaging features like AI Erase, Photo Enhance, and Document scanning from Gallery.

In terms of videos, vivo V40 lite is limited to 1080p@30fps from both the rear and front camera.

Battery and OS

In terms of battery, the vivo V40 Lite comes with a 5000mAh battery and supports 80W fast charging. It is one of the fastest-charging phones in the segment as vivo claims that it can charge to 80% in around 50 minutes.

Furthermore, vivo also claims 4 years of battery health on the V40 Lite.

Onto the OS, V40 Lite comes with Android 14 out of the box with Funtouch OS 14. The company has yet to announce how long they will provide software support for the phone.

Vivo V40 Lite 4G Price in Nepal and Availability

The vivo V40 Lite 4G price in Nepal is Rs. 36,999 for the sole 8/256GB variant. It is available for purchase via Daraz and authorized vivo retail stores across the country. For the first 500 customers, vivo is also providing a 0% EMI scheme.

The V40 Lite is the lite version of the recently launched vivo V40 with a 50MP main camera upgraded with vivo Aura Light system. While it gets a design refresh with a new camera module, other components like chipset and display are similar to its predecessor, the V30 Lite.
