New and Upcoming Smartphones in Nepal

Realme C3

The first phone on the list is Realme C3. When talking about the chassis, the Realme C3 is a typical budget device. A polycarbonate structure with a sunrise patterning has become the go-to composition for Realme budget devices. The superficial is free from any and all deformities meaning that it does not even include a fingerprint scanner.

Turning the attention to the front, the Realme C3 exhibits a 6.5” HD+ display that manages to retain 82.7% screen-to-body ratio. The max brightness reaches up to 480 nits which strangely addresses the sunrise pattern in the chassis of the device. Obviously, there’s a notch involved and it’s placed at a very regular central position on the display.

The phone features an actual gaming chipset- a Helio G70 that comes with 2 large cores clocked at 2 GHz and the remaining 6 at 1.7Ghz. Pair the processor with 3/4GB internals and voila; you have a gaming console in your hands! The New Realme UI on top of Android 10 is kind of a treat as well. It has the near stock android experience which is far better in terms of navigation and overall UI.

And, You know what goes best with a gaming chipset? Well, obviously a huge battery life! The Realme C3 comes in with 5000mAh battery that provides a full optimized gaming environment! The 10W standard charger is a bore, though.

Realme 6

The Realme 6 is a lot like all the mid-range peers popping up lately. It’s got a polycarbonate skeleton with a vertical camera array up its back. Rotating over to the front, there’s regular punch hole notch at the top left corner. The shimmery gradient finish is quite common too.

In terms of display, it has an IPS LCD Panel with FHD+ resolution stretched over a 6.5” canvas. The screen to body ratio is maintained at 84.1% and the refresh rate can go all the way up to 90Hz with touch sensing further stretched to 120Hz. On the surface, the phone features a stock android based Realme UI on top of Android 10.0.

Realme 6 houses in MediaTek G90T processor that’s supported well by a 4/6/8GB RAM and 64/128GB internal setup. G90T is also used in Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 8 Pro. Thus, we can expect performance to be top notch.

Onwards to the camera, there’s a vertical quad camera layout on one and the other. The primary is a 64MP followed by an 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro and 2 MP depth on the Realme 6. Up front, the Realme 6 hosts a single 16MP selfie camera.

Finally, it has a 4,300mAh battery and comes equipped with a 30W fast charging. Apparently, the 30W charger can juice up the phones completely in just under 57 minutes!

Realme 6i

Realme 6i is a budget device, the phone is constructed mostly out of polycarbonate; with a vertical camera layout and physical fingerprint sensor on the rear. Up front, the Realme 6i fancies an HD+ screen spread over a 6.5” IPS LCD canvas. The phone arrives with a waterdrop notch, 20:9 aspect ratio and 89.8% screen-to-body ratio. Obviously high refresh rate cannot be expected from this budget device; which is fine nonetheless.

In the core, the phone brings forth a new gaming-centric Helio G80 chipset. This is an affordable gaming chipset from MediaTek and it will deliver very good gaming performance. The chipset is paired with 3/4GB RAM and 64/128GB internal setup

realme 6i specs

Talking about the cameras, the Realme 6i fancies a total of 5 cameras. Over to the rear, you get a quad camera setup centered around a 48MP shooter. An extra 8MP ultrawide gunner, 2MP depth and 2MP macro sensor are pretty great for support. Reverting to the front, you get the typical 16MP selfie module.

Something that’s totally amazing about this device, is the massive 5000mAh battery that powers the device. The huge battery comes in with a standard 18W charger; that is well just sad.

Samsung Galaxy M31

Out of all the other phones in the list, the Galaxy M31 is the only complicated phone. Why? Well, its because most of the attributes are exactly similar to its forerunner, the Galaxy M30s! Expect for the L-shaped camera layout, there’s technically no difference in the design department at all.

The 6.4” Super AMOLED with a resolution of 1080p holding an Infinity-U cutout is identical as well. But since it’s a display from Samsung, I don’t really mind even if it was repeated. Underneath, the M31 uses the same Exynos 9611 chipset which is paired alongside 6GB RAM and 64/128GB internal setup; which is pretty boring as well.

Samsung Galaxy M31

An improved quad camera array centered around a 64MP f/1.7 is only aspect that I’d call interesting! The ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor uses Pixel binning technology to render final images at 16MP that bring out more life every photo you take. Aside from the primary sensor, the 8MP ultrawide, 5MP depth and 5MP macro camera are pretty great assistants!

The M31 houses a 6000mAh battery underneath that powers the entire device.

Samsung M31 Key Specifications

  • Display: 6.4-inches Super AMOLED panel
  • Resolution: FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels); 19.5:9 aspect ratio (~411 ppi density)

Samsung Galaxy M21

I don’t know why but Samsung has decided to use the same chipset on the M21 and M31. We get the same Exynos 9611chipset and the M21 looks very similar to the M31 as well. The chipset is coupled with either a 4/64GB or 6/128GB that supports UFS 2.1. Up top, the Samsung M21 fancies Android 10 based One UI 2.0.

The glastic finish is the go-to design that M21 has adopted. On the front, the phone features a Super AMOLED panel that’s stretched diagonally by 6.4-inches. The phone manages to retain around 84.2% screen-to-body ratio and resolution tops out at 1080 pixels.

The 6.4” Super AMOLED with a resolution of 1080p holding an Infinity-U cutout is identical as well. But since it’s a display from Samsung, I don’t really mind even if it was repeated.

Turning the focus of attention to cameras, the M21 houses a triple camera module with 48MP at the core. The primary sensor is accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide and 5MP depth. Reverting to the front, you get a 16MP selfie camera, which is okay.

Finally, it has a 6000mAh battery that powers the entire device. With this battery, you can easily get 2 days of battery with a single charge. The 15W fast charging is admirable but in front of this behemoth sized battery, it’s basically powerless.

  • Display: 6.44-inches Super AMOLED panel; (~84.2% screen-to-body ratio)
  • Resolution: FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels); 19.5:9 aspect ratio (~411 ppi density)

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro

The Note 9 series fancies a new minimalistic design change. A Square hump in the middle of a glass canvas i.e. the Aura Balance Design (as Xiaomi Likes to call it) is a modest design change to the Redmi family. The minimalist design is further stretched to the front as well with the introduction of punch-hole cutouts. On the sides, the physical fingerprint sensor doubles as a power button.

Again, reverting to the front, the Redmi Note 9 Pro flaunts an 6.67 inches IPS LCD Panel that stretches up to 85% percent; credits to the minimalistic punch-hole cutout. The FHD+ resolution surely makes things a lot clear and the inclusion of a Gorilla Glass 5 protection is truly calming. The phone does not have a higher refresh rate but it includes a 120Hz sampling rate, which is okay. However, it’s competition Realme 6 flaunts a 90HZ display and that could spell problem for the Redmi Note 9 Pro.

Underneath the display, is a new Snapdragon 720G chipset which is paired alongside up to 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. Up top, the phone fancies Android 10 based MIUI right off of the box.

The most bizarre change in the Note 9 Pro is definitely the replacement 48MP sensor. Yup, the Redmi Note 9 Pro now features a 48MP Samsung ISOCELL GW2 sensor instead of a 64MP snapper. For support, there’s an 8MP ultrawide with 120-degree FOV, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, you get a 16MP module for selfies.

Finally, it has there’s a humongous 5020 mAh capacitor that supports 18W fast charging.

Redmi Note 9 Pro Specifications
