TVS iQube in Nepal Now with Lifetime Battery Assurance (LBA) and Subscription Plans

TVS iQube gets a Lifetime Battery Assurance (LBA) program in Nepal.

It is an industry-first initiative to reduce the uncertainty and newness of electric vehicles in the Nepali market. The program will work towards removing the barriers by assuring the proper coverage of the battery, its warranty, and replacement cost.

The LBA program allows customers to replace their battery once the State of Health (SOH) of the battery drops below 70% for FREE! Moreover, the program will also address all the battery-related issues to ensure optimal performance and range.

More importantly, TVS Nepal claims that the program will save Rs. 1,03,600 in fuel and Rs. 32,500 in maintenance within the 5-year of ownership! After the 5-years, the yearly savings will be Rs. 36,000!

Since it is an industry-first, it does require a comprehensive understanding.

TVS iQube Variants

iQube continues to be the most popular TVS electric offering!

It has achieved incredible milestones since its initial launch: covering 411,000+ km distance, 10,275+ liter fuel savings, and 23700+ tons in carbon emission reduction.  

TVS iQube is available across two different variants.

Both the TVS iQube Base and TVS iQube S share the same battery, motor, and overall styling. However, a few key differences along with the price set the variants apart.

Here is a quick breakdown of the two TVS iQube variants in Nepal.

TVS iQube Base:

iQube Base comes in a Titanium Grey color only. It also features a Smaller Digital Display without SmartXonnect features and a Non-Adjustable Rear Suspension.

TVS iQube Base price in Nepal is Rs. 3.99 Lakhs.

TVS iQube S:

iQube S comes in five different colors. It features a Larger Digital Display with SmartXonnect features and Adjustable Rear Suspension.

TVS iQube S price in Nepal is Rs. 4.29 Lakhs.

Direct Purchase

Interestingly, the TVS iQube prices will depend on whether customers opt for a Direct Purchase or a Subscription Model.

If you want to purchase the TVS electric scooter directly without enrolling in the Lifetime Battery Assurance (LBA) program, then the TVS iQube will cost Rs. 3.99 Lakhs to Rs. 4.29 Lakhs.

Moreover, the customers can purchase the TVS scooter as usual.

Importantly, the direct purchase owners can enroll in the LBA program 2 years after purchase, as the battery will be covered under the Standard Battery Warranty.

Lifetime Battery Assurance (LBA) Purchase

The prices for the TVS iQube will be different if the customers opt to enroll in the Lifetime Battery Assurance (LBA) program. Then, the same TVS iQube variants will cost Rs. 2.99 Lakhs to Rs. 3.29 Lakhs.

As of this writing, there are no EMI options available for the LBA Program. Customers will have to pay Rs. 2.99 Lakhs for the iQube Base and Rs. 3.29 Lakhs for the iQube S variants as a whole before purchase.

LBA Subscription Plans

When a customer opts for the subscription plan under the LBA program, customers will get to choose between three subscription plans. These options will allow iQube customers to select the appropriate subscription plans based on their budget, requirements, and usage.

Customers can pay the LBA subscription fee monthly, quarterly, or yearly. 

Option 1: Rs. 2999 Subscription

In option 1, the new TVS iQube customers will pay Rs. 2999 per month for the first 3 years (36 months) of their ownership. After the 3 years, the customers will pay Rs. 1499 + 13% VAT to continue enrollment in the subscription until the battery reaches 70% SOH.

• Initial 36 Months: Payment of Rs. 2,999 per month
• From 37th Month Onwards: Payment of Rs. 1,499 + VAT per month

Customers can opt out of this plan after completing the initial 36 months’ payment.

Option 2: Rs. 4499 Subscription

In option 2, the new TVS iQube customers will pay Rs. 4999 per month for the first 2 years (24 months) of their ownership. After the 2 years, the customers will pay Rs. 999 + 13% VAT to continue enrollment in the subscription until the battery reaches 70% SOH.

• Initial 24 Months: Payment of Rs. 4,499 per month
• From 25th Month Onwards: Payment of Rs. 999 + VAT per month

Customers can opt out of this plan after completing the initial 24 months’ payment.

Option 3: Customized Subscription

Customers can further customize the subscription plan to accommodate their individual needs and requirements.

Existing TVS iQube Customers

TVS Nepal has enabled the existing TVS iQube owners to enroll in the LBA program. The existing customers can enroll in the LBA program after 2 years from the date of purchase.

• From Year 3 onward: Payment of Rs. 999 + VAT per month

Customers will pay Rs. 999 + 13% VAT per month to continue enrollment in the subscription until the battery reaches 70% SOH.

Important Note:

There is a very crucial point to note in the Lifetime Battery Assurance (LBA) program.

If customers opt out of the LBA Subscription plan after completing their mandatory 24-month or 36-month subscription or at any point thereafter, they will not be able to re-enroll in the plan.

For example: If I cancel the LBA subscription in Year 4, I will not be able to renew the subscription in Year 6 again.

That is why, I will need to continue my subscription as the LBA program will cover battery-related issues for the duration of the subscription. If the subscription is canceled, the LBA program will no longer cover any battery-related issues.

If I need to do battery replacement or repair outside the LBA program, that cost will come out of my pocket.
