Recently, there have been few rumors flying around in the auto industry. According to this rumor, Toyota will launch the Toyota Raize for the 2022 model year. Since this news is based on rumors, take it with a grain of salt.
Going into the details, Raize will be a love child of the Suzuki-Toyota partnership. As most already know, Suzuki and Toyota have announced a partnership between the two. In this partnership, both manufacturers will cross-supply vehicles and vehicle parts for the Indian market.
Toyota Raize: Details So Far
Basically, both automakers will have something to add, making the SUV even more special. Additionally, it will be based on Daihatsu DN Trec Concept showcased at Tokyo Motor Show 2017.
Right now, Toyota Raize, the Indian variant, might share the powertrains with the next-gen Brezza. However, the overall styling will be much more different and unique. Imagine the design being something along the lines of the Toyota RAV4. According to the snapshots leaks, the sub-4m SUV will be sold under Toyota badging!
Moreover, Toyota Raize (or Toyota-Suzuki Brezza) will come in just the petrol variant. Interestingly, this might change in the future. Furthermore, it will get a major bump in terms of styling, maybe even performance! Plus, the engine will be a BS6/BS7 complaint.
Toyota Raize is rumored to arrive in India by 2022. Moreover, it will be very interesting to see it square off against the likes of Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, ad Tata Nexon. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift will also unveil in April 2020. Maybe, that will be something Suzuki-Toyota partnership will look like.
Again, everything is not yet confirmed. So, we’ll just have to wait and see.
