Tesla is a driving force behind the revolution of electric vehicles. It practically changed the somewhat of a concept into reality. Starting with Tesla Model S, it continues to bring forth electric cars marked up with a mainstream appeal.
Now, it going to do the same for the pickup trucks! In the latest unveiling event, Tesla unveiled its all-electric pickup truck called the Tesla Cybertruck. It comes with a never-before-heard stainless-steel body topped off with a futuristic design.
Since it was a much-anticipated event, it clearly lived up to its hype. Moreover, it is set to start production starting in late 2021. Additionally, it will be available in three offerings with variable range, speed, and power.
Tesla Cybertruck: Overview
Tesla Cybertruck will be battery-powered capable of generating a max power of 750HP. Moreover, it is given out the variable range, which depends on a model (typically from 650km to 800km).
Starting with the base variant, it is powered by a single RWD motor with a 250+ miles range. Likewise, it is capable of going 0-60mph in just 6.5 seconds with top-speed capped at 110mph. Furthermore, it has a starting price of just $39,900.
Moving to the mid variant, it is powered by a dual AWD motor with a 300+ miles range. Likewise, it is capable of going 0-60mph in just 4.5 seconds with top-speed capped at 120mph. Furthermore, it has a starting price of just $49,900.
Finally, the top variant is powered by a triple AWD motor with a 500+ miles range. Likewise, it is capable of going 0-60mph in just 2.9 seconds with top-speed capped at 130mph. Furthermore, it has a starting price of just $69,900.
Additionally, the truck is off-road ready with a 35-degree approach angle, a 28-degree departure angle, and an impressive 16-inches of ground clearance.
Tesla Cybertruck: Features
Tesla Cybertruck comes with 250kW+ Supercharging capability, Autopilot, Adaptive Air Suspension, and On-board AC outlets as standard. Moreover, it also comes with payload capabilities of 3500lbs as standard.
Additionally, it also comes with a Full Self-Driving package as an optional offering.
Tesla has touted Cybertruck to be durable with “armor glass” protection. Unfortunately, the demonstration failed when the ball did shatter the glass. Since it is a demo, let’s just ignore that mishap.
However, the event did bounce back from the mishap after the introduction of Tesla-designed electric ATV.
Tesla Cybertruck: Looks
You might like it, you might not.
Clearly, Tesla wants to experiment on looks. Honestly, the entire truck looks so futuristic which sets it apart from the rest. Well, it’s not a generic-looking truck but it… different.
Elon Musk has touted Wet Nellie, the submarine car from the film The Spy Who Loved Me, as an inspiration.
Personally, I hope they change a few things around to improve the overall appeal. Plus, I think the overall design will play a huge factor when buying in it 2021.
If you think Tesla Cybertruck is exciting, wait until the next launch of the upcoming 2020 Tesla Roadster.
