The scooter segment has changed considerably. Rather than being an alternative to a motorcycle, scooters comes across as an equivalent competitor. It is more so true for the Suzuki Burgman Street 125.
Launched back in 2018, Burgman Street 125 was ahead of its time. While it had a lot of excellent features on offer, it came with an expensive price for the time.
Today, the pricing seems reasonable.
Comparing with other 125cc scooters, Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is regarded as one of the best in its segment for Rs. 2,37,900.
Well, that is a huge claim that should be put to the test. Fortunately, we have the new Suzuki Burgman Street 125 in the house!
While we have only tested it out for a few hours, we wanted to see if it surprises us with anything over the competition.

Suzuki Burgman Street 125 First Ride
Maxi Design
Let’s kick off the First Ride Review with its design.
Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is the only 125cc maxi-scooter in Nepal. It features a unique design alongside a larger frame and an elongated body.
Compared to a typical scooter, Suzuki Burgman prominently features a meaner aesthetic.
Inspired by the iconic Burgman 400, it tries to bring the same level of aggressive design to the 125cc segment.
Starting on the front, the design is familiar to a maxi-scooter with its “larger than life” front section.
It is brought together with the LED headlamp, bulbed side indicators, and a large windshield. Moreover, the two chrome strips help reconfirm its premium appeal.
Moving to the side profile, the maxi-scooter design becomes more apparent with its beefy front and its elongated rear section.
Interestingly, the longer tail section comes with a longer and wider seat. Moreover, it also includes a spacious footboard with enough space for the slanted leg position for longer rides.
However, the side profile might feel a little unbalanced due to the smaller 10-inch rear tyre.
Other than that slight hiccup, the rear section is prominent with its multi-LED taillamp and a large grab bar.
Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is available in three colors: Matte Black, Matte Grey, and Matte Silver.

Familiar Performance
Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is powered by a 124cc, air-cooled, carburetor engine with Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP). Moreover, it can generate a max power of 8.7PS at 7000rpm and max torque of 10.2Nm at 5000rpm.
If you compare the specs with the Suzuki Access 125, both are mechanically similar. Both share the same BS4-compliant engine with the same performance feel with a negligible difference.
So, the performance comes with a punchy feel in both the mid and top end.
In comparison with its competition, Suzuki Burgman Street packs in enough to hold its own against the growing competition.
I didn’t really notice any major vibrations, even though it is a carburetor. However, we will be sure to test it further.
Underrated Features
Only after testing out the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 for a few hours, I came to a halting realization that it is underrated.
It packs in a lot of features, most of which are still absent in the competition.
As an example, Burgman Street 125 includes Front Disc alongside Combi Braking System (CBS) as standard where the competition charges an extra Rs. 15000 – Rs. 20000 for it.
There are countless examples like this one, which we will go into detail for our full review.

Suzuki Burgman Street 125 First Ride Experience
After an initial test ride with the flagship Suzuki scooter, I can already feel like it is highly underrated.
Like the competition, the Burgman Street offers a punchy performance. On the other hand, it seems to offer more features for the price.
It looks cool, packs in punchy performance, and includes practical stuff!
The smaller 10-inch rear tyre is the only “con” I can think about right now. Except for the comically small tires, the rest of the scooter is almost perfect.
Again, I have only ridden the Burgman Street 125 for a few hours. However, that experience was enough for me that I am seriously considering buying one for myself.

But… let’s not jump to conclusions.
We still have to it for a week, which is enough time to bring out the best and the worst part of any two-wheeler.
However, I have gained enough experience to tell you that, Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is hella underrated!
