Obi Worldphone, previously Obi Mobiles, has stepped in the Nepali Market with its two smartphones – SF1 and SJ1.5. Both of these phones were officially launched in an official launch program held yesterday at Jyoti Bhawan, Jamal. Starck Tech, a subsidiary of Jyoti Group who has been appointed as the national distributor of Obi Worldphone organized the launch event.
During the event, Saurabh Jyoti, Director at Jyoti Group said, “The company’s vision to indulge customers with latest technological products at affordable price. And, with increasing demand of smartphones in Nepal, the company anticipates that it would be able to satisfy the needs of the customers with Obi Worldphone.”
That was all about the event, now let’s get into the business and take a dig into the key specs of these smartphones along with the price they are being offered.
The first phone is SJ1.5 priced at Rs. 14,799 which comes with following key specs,
- 5-inch screen (1280 X 720 pixels)
- 1.3 GHz Quad-core Mediatek MT6580 processor
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB internal storage, expandable up to 32GB with a microSD card
- 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera
- 3000mAh battery
- Android 5.1 (Lollipop)

The second phone, SF1, the company’s flagship phone comes with two variants – one with 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage at the price tag of Rs. 26, 199 and next with 2GB Ram + 16GB internal storage at the price tag of Rs. 21, 499. SF1. The phones come with following key specs,
- 5-inch screen (1920 X 1080 pixels)
- 1.5GHz Octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor
- 2GB/3GB RAM
- 16GB/32GB internal storage, both expandable up to 64GB with a microSD card
- Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop)
- 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP front camera with LED flash
- 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 1.0
Both of these smartphones seems to exceed expectations of customers at the given price ranges. Obi SF1 is a good looking device with powerful features that makes sure, that you can get the most out of this device. SJ1.5 is equally good looking smartphone with an attractive display and a large battery backup. However, it has a meager RAM capacity compared to other smartphone available at this range.
