Futureworld has been the authorized reseller of Apple and SkullCandy in Nepal since 2012. They have been providing a variety of apple products and have expanded their reach through Skullcandy earphones and headphones in the Nepalese market. When people think about apple and their products the first thing that hits them is its price, and so it is with Skullcandy products. Yes, they aren’t cheap but they aren’t sold on every corner of the street either and it gives you the best possible audio experience there is.
Getting on with the topic, let us start with the Skullcandy 50/50 earphones.
Skullcandy Earphones and Headphones Price in Nepal |2017
Skullcandy 50/50 (Earphone)
- In-ear style earphones
- Cable type: Flat TPE
- Cable length: 1.3m
- Plug type: 3.5mm Gold-plated
- Driver: 11mm in diameter
- Physical volume up, volume down and play/pause/accept calls buttons
- Integrated mic
- A separate travel box and extra ear-tips in the package
- Color options: Lime Green, Dark Green, Black and Purple
Talking about the audio performance, the 50/50 has tremendous bass and barely any distortion even at maximum volume. The heavy bass may not be for everyone and exaggeration in the sound quality might be felt but the unique design, the way it fits in your ear canal creating an isolation and the shiny skull on each earphone might attract even the non-bass lovers.
Skullcandy 50/50 Price in Nepal: Rs. 4500
Skullcandy INK’D (Earphone)
- In-ear style earphones
- Cable type: TPE
- Cable length: 1.3m
- Plug type: 3.5mm Gold-plated
- Driver: 11mm in diameter
- In-line mic
- Extra ear-tips in the package
- Color combination options: Blue & Orange, Red & Black, Purple & White, Maroon Red & Black.
The INK’D has a powerful bass but not as powerful as the 50/50. The sound quality is clear and decent with high treble notes. The INK’D does a decent job at noise isolation but not as great as the 50/50. So, if you want an earphone with a good amount of bass and high trebles along with a sleeker design, then the Skullcandy INK’D will be the best buy for you.
Skullcandy INK’D Price in Nepal: Rs. 2100
Skullcandy Chops Bud (Earphone)
- In-ear style earphones
- Cable type: TPE
- Cable length: 1.2m
- Plug type: 3.5mm Gold-plated
- Adjustable ear hanger
- Driver: 15mm in diameter
- Physical volume up, volume down and play/pause/accept calls buttons
- Extra ear-tips in the package
The Chops bud is specially made for all the athletes out there. The adjustable ear hanger helps the earphone to remain rigidly in your ear simultaneously being remarkably comfortable for long use although the material used is the rubber. They really do mean by their catchphrase-“Keep your music where it belongs”. The sound that the 15mm driver produces is clear and can get loud enough, although it is not as bass-full as the INK’D or 50/50. Unfortunately, the Chops bud is available only in Grey color, but you can always contact or visit Futureworld for latest updates.
Skullcandy Chops Bud Price in Nepal: Rs. 2800
Skullcandy 2XL Spoke (Earphone)
Skullcandy also has its less expensive earphones namely 2XL. There are mainly two models available at Futureworld: 2XL Spoke and 2XL Offset.
- In-ear style earphones
- Cable type- Flat TPE
- Cable length: 1.3m
- Driver: 10mm in diameter
- Plug type: 3.5mm Gold-plated
For the price, these are a decent pair of earphones with a fair amount of bass and not overly optimized sound resulting clearer output and sufficient treble.
Skullcandy 2XL Spoke Price in Nepal: Rs. 1200
Skullcandy 2XL Offset (Earphone)
- On-ear style earphones
- Cable type- TPE
- Cable length: 1.2m
- Driver: 30mm in diameter
- Plug type: 3.5mm Gold-plated
Since these are on-ear earphones, switching from the in-ear felt like the sound was coming from a speaker inside a hollow container. So, there was barely any bass. Besides that, these earphones were loud and yet still didn’t give any distorted sound output. Most of the sound escaped due to the on-ear styling of the earphone resulting in zero noise isolation.
Skullcandy 2XL Offset Price in Nepal: Rs. 1000
Skullcandy Cassette (Headphone)
Furthermore, Futureworld offers four models of Skullcandy headphones. Starting off, we have the Skullcandy Cassette.
- Over-ear styling
- Y-shaped Detachable cable
- Physical play/pause button
- Integrated mic
- Plug type: 3.5mm Gold-plated
- Metal adjuster
- Lightweight
- Stashable design
The first thing to say about this earphone is that it is thunderously loud and yet it delivers sharp but flat sound. At full volume, it behaves as a speaker in low volume. The stashable design really comes in handy for on-the-go consumers as it can be stashed into half its size.
Skullcandy Cassette Price in Nepal: Rs. 6150
Skullcandy Lowrider (Headphone)
Similarly, following the stashable design we have the Skullcandy Lowrider.
- Over-ear styling
- Y-shaped non-detachable cable
- Cable type- Nylon/TPE
- Physical play/pause button
- Integrated mic
- Plug type: 3.5mm Gold-plated
- Turn heads
- Lightweight
- Stashable design
- Color options: Lime Green, Army Green, and Dark Blue
These headphones are loud, not as loud as the Cassette but the sound quality is a lot better with a decent amount of bass. As it is over-ear and has an appreciable amount of loudness, it keeps most of the sound inside rather than letting it escape out. The turn heads, stashable design, and its weight makes it best for portable use although it would have been better if it had a detachable cable.
Skullcandy Lowrider Price in Nepal: Rs. 4300
Skullcandy Hesh (Headphone)
Moving further in the lineup, Skullcandy Hesh is entry-level high-performance headphone.
- Over-ear styling
- Detachable cable
- Cable type- TPE
- Cable length- 1.2m
- Physical play/pause/accept calls button
- Integrated mic
- Plug type: 3.5mm Gold-plated
The Hesh is fairly unique in its design with ample of cushion on the top and the ear cups. For those with large ears, finding the right spot for perfect fit might be hard. The clamping force on this headphone is a bit high so having your glasses on while using the headphone will cause fatigue over time resulting in sweaty ears although it helps in some noise isolation. Audio from this headphones is decent with a hefty amount of bass although most of the mids and highs are dropped causing some distortion at higher volumes. Therefore, if you care more about the bass, Skullcandy Hesh is the right headphone for you.
Skullcandy Hesh Price in Nepal: Rs. 7200
Skullcandy Hesh 2 (Headphone)
Following the Hesh line up is the Hesh 2. Unfortunately, the Hesh 2 wireless was out of stock when I reviewed the wired Hesh 2.
- Over-ear styling
- Soft leather
- Fatter Detachable cable
- Cable type- TPE
- Cable length- 1.2m
- Physical play/pause/accept calls button
- Integrated mic
- Plug type: 3.5mm Gold-plated
- Club Colors: Chelsea and Germany
Compared to the Hesh, the Hesh 2 has a fatter detachable cable and softer leather but the heat trap problem causing sweaty ears still remains. So, the design hasn’t quite changed except for the paint jobs. But the audio is better with barely any distortion at maximum volume. The drivers have been tweaked to focus also on the mids and highs which the Hesh 1 was missing. Also, the bass is low as compared to the Hesh 1 but it sounds quite normal if you are not much of a bass lover.
Skullcandy Hesh 2 Price in Nepal: Rs. 7500
Skullcandy INK’D 2.0 Wireless (Earphone)
- In-ear style wireless earphones
- Low profile design
- Silicone earpieces
- Bluetooth range: 30 feet
- Battery Life: 8 hours
- Cable type: Flat TPE
- Driver: 10mm in diameter
- Physical volume up, volume down and play/pause/accept calls buttons
- Integrated Mic
- A separate travel box and extra ear-tips in the package
- Color options: Red, Grey, Royal Navy Blue
Skullcandy INK’D 2.0 wireless is the revamped version of the original INK’D wireless. It is much lighter and comfortable as it weighs only 24 grams. Also, its flexible collar lets you store it in a pocket or a bag easily. Noise isolating fit enhances the audio experience and also it has amazing bass. Thus, INK’D 2.0 is an affordable Bluetooth headphone with flexible collar, decent audio quality, and reasonably good battery life.
Skullcandy INK’D 2.0 Wireless Price in Nepal: Rs. 6200
Skullcandy SMOKIN BUDS 2.0 Wireless (Earphone)
- In-ear style wireless earphones
- Low profile design with removable flex collar
- Angled & oval shaped nozzle
- Bluetooth range: 30 feet
- Battery Life: 7 hours
- Cable type: Flat TPE
- Physical volume up, volume down and play/pause/accept calls buttons
- Integrated Mic
- A separate travel box and extra ear-tips in the package
- Color options: Red Black, Chrome Black
Skullcandy SMOKIN BUDS 2.0 is similar to the INK’D in terms of build & performance. However, it features a removable flex collar which fits comfortably on your neck. Similar to INK’D it features physical volumes for calls, volume control, and media controls. Interestingly it has an angled & oval shaped nozzle that aligns better with the natural shape of the ear. Also, this lets for better noise isolation. SMOKIN BUDS 2.0 has better highs than the INK’D 2.0 with similar bass. SMOIND BUDS 2.0 is certainly an affordable wireless earbud that doesn;t compromise the audio performance.
Skullcandy SMOKIN BUDS 2 Wireless Price in Nepal: Rs. 7600
Skullcandy UPROAR Wireless (Headphone)
- On-ear style wireless headphone
- Low profile & lightweight design
- Synthetic leather ear pillows
- Bluetooth range: 30 feet
- Battery Life: 10 hours
- Physical volume up, volume down and play/pause/accept calls buttons
- Integrated Mic
- A separate travel box and extra ear-tips in the package
- Color options: Royal Cream Blue, Black Grey
Skullcandy UPROAR Wireless is one of the best headphones in its price range. It has amazing bass & reasonably crisp highs. Though, if you’re looking for something with more flat and luxurious design, you’ll have to look elsewhere. The synthetic leather pillow provides proper cushion though same cannot be said about the headband. However, you can listen for long sessions as it has 10 hours of battery life.
Skullcandy UPROAR Wireless Price in Nepal: Rs. 6500
Both the Skullcandy Hesh are great headphones. But for the price, it would have been even better if they were stashable too so that portability would have been easier and maybe an extra pair of cable and ear cups of bigger size for larger ears.
You can visit Futureworld Nepal to get yourself a new Skullcandy earphone/headphone. It is located at Civil Mall, Kathmandu. You can contact them via their Facebook page: FutureWorld Nepal.
