In order to commemorate its 50th anniversary, Samsung has just dropped prices on 3 of its smartphones released during the 2nd half of 2019. A50s, A30s and A10s in specific were the ones to be marked down.
So, without a further ado, let’s have a look at the price drops.
Galaxy A50s
Before today, the Galaxy A50s was priced at Rs 42,190 and currently it’s at Rs 35,199. Well, we have managed to cover the entire specifications of the Galaxy A50s in a separate article. So, check that out for more reference.
For those of you who aren’t quite aware of the device, the A50s is an upgraded version of the A50. So, there are a lot of similarities. Display wise, it’s the one that’s been rocking in every mid-ranged Samsung devices. The 6.04” sAMOLED display at 1080p resolution is a thing of beauty. Under the hood, the phone has an Octa-Core Exynos 9611 chipset coupled with 6Gb RAM. In comparison to the A50, it’s just a minor upgrade in terms of performance. On the rear, the smartphone has a triple camera bearing 48MP with f/2.0 using the Sony IMX582 sensor, 8MP for ultra-wide-angle and 5MP depth sensor lens. At the front, there’s a notch at the top which houses the 32MP front camera, and an integrated fingerprint sensor which is positioned conveniently. Lastly, we have a 4000mAh battery with 15W charger. It’s good and it should easily last about a day with medium usage.
One more thing that you should note is the competitors in this pricing. The major competitors include recently emerged Redmi Note 8 Pro and the other include a still young player to the game, Galaxy M30s. All 3 devices are quite great but if you want my opinion, go for the overall balanced Redmi Note 8 Pro.
Galaxy A30s
If you’re aware of this device, you may already know that this was one of the worst phones for a price point of Rs 31,890. Price drop to Rs 27,499 still doesn’t change anything for this device. Well, if you still wish to know more about this failure, you can check it out from here. The overall design is almost similar to the A30, the exception being the prism styled finish on the glastic rear. Moving on, the A30s has been downgraded in terms of display. The device shows off a 6.4” sAMOLED display with HD resolution.
Under the glass is an Exynos 7904 chipset paired with 3/4Gb RAM which runs the game. It’s neither an upgrade nor a downgrade as compared to the A30. Powering all of the device is a 4000mAh battery life which comes with 15W fast charge.
At the center of the triple camera array, we have a 25MP f1.7 sensor coupled with an 8MP ultrawide and 5MP depth sensor. The sensor is actually good and gets some really decent photos in daytime. The front has a 16MP sensor.
As for the competitors, every other phone is worth buying when compared to this phone. But again, I think it’s best if you go for Redmi Note 8 Pro or Galaxy A50.
Galaxy A10s
The A10s had managed to get its price dropped to Rs 15,690 just two months ago. Right now, after the discount, the phone is priced at Rs 14,799. Not much of a discount as compared to the others but still a great deal. The device flaunts a 6.2” TFT HD+ display with a resolution of 720 x 1,520 pixels. Even though it’s not AMOLED, the HD+ display with a 720p resolution at this price is actually pretty amazing.
Underneath, the device packs an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 Processor. The processor is decent enough for daily activities like browsing through the net or phone and messages. It could support gaming to some extent. But high-end gaming is not going to be that great.
However, the multitasking shouldn’t be that much of a problem when this processor is paired with 2GB of RAM. And the phone runs on top of One UI. So, overall the device is well-balanced. Above all, the phone packs a 4000mAh battery which provides enough juice to power the device for an entire day.
There’s a dual-camera setup on the rear part of the device with 13MP as main sensor along with a 2MP as a depth sensor. Besides the dual-camera setup, the front cut-out has an 8MP selfie camera.
Finally, talking about the competitors, we have the Realme C2, Lava Benco V8, Redmi 7 and Redmi 8. Amongst these phones, I think the Redmi 8 is quite worth the money here but there’s not that much of a difference overall.
So, that’s it on the price drop. Which of these phones do you think is the worthiest to buy after this price drop? Do let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below.
