Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Overview
Build & Design
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 rocks glass back and an aluminum frame. Even though it’s a two-year-old device it still holds up when it comes to design and build.
On top of that, it is IP68 water resistance and has Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the rear. Not many phones under 70k can boast that right now.
On the rear, the dual-camera setup along with a heart rate sensor is aligned horizontally and below the camera module, there’s a fingerprint sensor. And, of course, you get S Pen with which you can capture photos, unlock the phone, write memos, and do lots of other things.
Display
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has a 6.4 inches Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2960. It supports HDR 10 and has a screen-to-body ratio of 83.4%.
Yes, it does not have fancy notch or punch-hole and a high refresh rate display but believe me, it is still one of the best displays you will find on a phone under 70K.
Hardware
For hardware, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 runs on Exynos 9810 chipset along with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It is fast and you will be able to do anything you do on a brand new flagship of 2020.
Though, it won’t be the fastest you can get for the price. There are better performing phones at cheaper prices like the Redmi K20 Pro or even the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
But I have been using the S9+ for more than 2 years now which uses the same chipset and let me assure you that it’s fast and can play heavy games pretty smooth,
Camera
Onto the camera, Note 9 has one of those variable aperture cameras with 12MP main sensor and 12MP telephoto lens on the rear. On the front, it gets a dual camera with an 8MP sensor and a 2MP dedicated iris scanner camera.
You can capture videos up to 4k60fps from the rear camera and up to 1440p 30fps from the front camera.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 can still hold up in terms of camera performance but the new devices with cheaper price tags can do better than the Galaxy Note 9. Also, it misses out on an ultrawide angle camera as well and this could be a turn off for many people.
Battery
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has a 4000 mAh battery and a 15W fast charging support. The battery capacity is not huge given we can find 6000 mAh battery these days. But, it will last you one day and the 15W charger can top up the battery from 0 to 100 in about 1 hour and 40 mins.
Furthermore, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 runs on OneUI 2.0 on top of Android 10. And, it has the headphone jack as well.
Is Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Still Viable?
Yes! Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is one of the old flagship phones to own in 2020. And, for the price of Rs. 69,999, I would be more than happy to get this smartphone.

It provides you top-notch AMOLED display, good performance, good images, and has a good battery as well. On top of that, Samsung provides constant upgrades to S9 and the Note 9 series.
But of course, there are phones with better performance and better battery for a cheaper price which I’ve already mentioned above. Also, there’s Galaxy Note 10 Lite which more or less has identical hardware. But, it does not have the premium look and feel of the Note 9.
So, if you want to own a premium flagship phone then definitely go for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 right now. This is one of the best deals you can ever get.
