Redmi Note 14 5G Also Makes Way to Nepal This Time!

After skipping the 5G model for the base Redmi Note 13, Xiaomi Nepal has reintroduced the 5G model with the Redmi Note 14.

The Redmi Note 14 5G price in Nepal is Rs. 30,999 for the 8/256GB and Rs. 35,999 for the 12/512GB variant.

The phone went live on 13 January 2025 in the Nepali market alongside its other series members, which includes its 4G counterpart, Note 14 Pro, and 14 Pro+ models.

Redmi Note 14 5G Overview

Design

Design-wise, the Redmi Note 14 5G sits somewhere between the base 4G and Pro 5G models. As such, its display and frames are flat, but the back panel is curved.

It even comes in the same three colour options as the Pro 5G model i.e. Midnight Black, Coral Green, and Lavender Purple. They even have similar chequered patterns on the latter two while the black option goes by the “simple is better” mantra.

This phone also has an IP64 rating, a step up from the IP54 on its 4G variant and the base model we got last year.

Display

On the front, the Redmi Note 14 5G gets a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen. While it’s the same size as the Pro models, there is one key visual difference — it’s flat. Likewise, the screen has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer on top for added durability.

With the Redmi Note 14 5G, you get an FHD+ (1,080 x 2,400 pixels) resolution, a 394 PPI pixel density, up to 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 2,100 nits peak brightness.

You also get a touch sampling rate of up to 480Hz, which when the “Game Mode” is turned on can reach up to 2,160Hz.

Moreover, this phone’s display has 8-bit colour depth, the same as high-end devices such as Galaxy S24 Ultra. Other than that, it covers a full DCI-P3 colour space, offers 960Hz PWM dimming, TÜV Rheinland certification for Low Blue Light (Hardware solution), Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly, and supports Wet-touch technology.

Hardware

The Redmi Note 14 5G has the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra serving as its brain. This chipset could have very little or no upgrades over the standard Dimensity 7025.

This is because MediaTek has a habit of slapping the “Ultra” moniker just for the sake of marketing, even though the processor is absolutely the same.

Regardless, it is a 6nm octa-core silicon with a peak clock speed of up to 2.5GHz. The graphics on the other hand is handled by the IMG BXM-8-256 GPU.

In addition to the MediaTek chipset, you get up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 2.2 storage. In Nepal, the phone is available in two configurations: 8/256GB and 12/512GB.

It also supports storage expansion of up to 1TB, though you will have to give up on dual SIM usage for that.

Cameras

The camera department on the Redmi Note 14 5G is led by a 108MP main unit. While it may appear to be the same thing as the one on its 4G counterpart, the reality is a bit different.

So, what’s new? For the first time in the Redmi Note Classic series, we are getting OIS capability.

The two rear and the front cameras remain the same on this phone. Meaning, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro on the back and 20MP for the selfies.

Being one of the lowest members of the Note series, it does not have all the fancy AI imaging capabilities as its Pro siblings. However, it does get the AI Erase and AI Sky features.

Battery and AI

A 5,110mAh battery juices the Redmi Note 14 5G which relies on the 45W charger in the box for recharging. It can intake all of the 45W power the charger outputs.

Software-wise, the phone boots on Xiaomi’s in-house HyperOS bundled with Google Gemini, giving it AI capabilities like Gemini Extensions, Overlay, Circle to Search, and Image Generation.

These AI features are reliant on an internet connection.

The Redmi Note 14 series launched on 13 January 2025 in Nepal. The Redmi Note 14 5G price in Nepal is Rs 30,999 for the 8/256GB and Rs. 35,999 for the 12/512GB trim. It is available for purchase at all the authorised outlets across the country.

The 5G member of the Redmi Note 14 Classic brings better features than its 4G counterpart, such as a much more potent Dimensity 7025 Ultra chipset, better water and dust resistance with an IP64 rating, and an OIS imaging system.

Considering the extra things you get, a price hike of Rs. 3,000 from the 4G model does not seem too bad.
