Redmi A3 Overview
Design
For the price-point, the Redmi A3 looks classy and stylish. The phone comes with a glass back if you choose the Midnight Black or Lake Blue color or a textured polymer back if you opt for the Olive Green color. The rear camera is housed inside a large glass resembling a watch face along with the auxiliary lens and the flash.
Redmi has managed to reduce the thickness of the phone from 9.1mm down to 8.3mm compared to its previous offering, the Redmi A2. On the front, the phone has a waterdrop notch that houses the selfie camera.
The volume button and the power button/fingerprint reader are placed on the right-hand side of the device, whereas the SIM card slot is on the opposite side. Likewise, the speaker grille and the USB-C port are housed on the bottom.

Display
Redmi A3 comes with a 6.71-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1650 pixels. It has a refresh rate of 90Hz. Redmi A3’s display comes with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which protects it against accidental scratches and drops.
Hardware
The Redmi A3 is powered by the same MediaTek Helio G36 processor as the Redmi A2. It is an octa-core chip with 4x 2.2 GHz Cortex-A53 and 4x 1.6 GHz Cortex-A53 processors. The graphics is handled by a PowerVR GE8320 GPU.
The chipset is found on budget phones such as the Honor X6a and the Honor X5 Plus. The phone comes in 3/64GB, and 4/128GB memory and storage configurations.
Camera
The rear has an 8MP main camera, a 0.08MP auxiliary camera and the flash, all housed inside a large camera circle.
Meanwhile, the front has a 5MP selfie camera housed inside a waterdrop notch on the display. Both the front and back cameras can shoot videos up to 1080p at 30fps.
Battery and OS
Redmi has included a 5000mAh battery that supports 10W charging.
Unlike its predecessors Redmi A1 and A2 series that run on Android Go edition, the Redmi A3 runs on full-fledge Android 14 with MIUI skin applied on top. Xiaomi has promised to provide 2 major Android updates and 3 years of security patches.
