Realme X2 Exclusively Launched on Daraz for Rs 35,990: Better Late than Never!

The aggression to rule the mid-range department continues as Realme launches yet another mid-range missile to the battlefield. This time making its debut to the Nepalese market, we have the Realme X2. The Realme X2 is a mid-range sibling to the infamous Realme X2 Pro; kind of like how Redmi K20 is to Redmi K20 Pro.

The X2 has just been launched on Daraz for an entry level price of Rs 39,990. Additionally, Daraz is giving away 10% discount on the phone.

On top of that, there are promotional offers available on the device, which can be accessed using code “BOOM2000”; which finally lowers the price down to…. Rs 33,990!

So, does the Realme X2 live up to the notorious status of Realme Mid-rangers? Well, we’ll get right back to that thought once we’re done with the feature analysis.

Realme X2 Feature Analysis

The X2, right of the bat is a real treat to look at. The eye-catching wave bouncing off the glass frame is what makes the X2 an eye candy. The Realme logo at the very bottom is an eyesore for me though. Just like any other mid-ranger, the frontal framework consists of a drop-down notch setup, which apparently is protected by a gorilla glass 5 layer.

Underneath the glass structure, the X2 flaunts a 6.4” sAMOLED display which tops out at 1080p. Going deeper, we find an Octa-Core Snapdragon 730G processor, assembled with 8/128GB internals. The chipset is quite competent for a mid-ranger and since it is a gaming-oriented chipset lags will rarely be noticeable. The color OS seems to have been improved quite a bit from its previous iterations so, that’s something to look out for in this device as well.

Moving on to the quad vertical camera array, we have a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor snapper at the center of attention. Assisting the primary sensor, we have an 8MP ultrawide, 2MP depth and a 2MP macro lens. As expected, the 64MP snapper utilizes Quad Bayer technology to produce 16MP photos with much more details. Towards the front, a 32MP snapper has been fitted under the drop-down notch.

Finally, powering the entire device is a 4000 mAh battery life that obviously supports fast charging. And it’s not just any other fast charging; it’s actually a 30W VOOC charger that can get the battery from 0 to 67% in just 30 minutes!

Realme X2: Initial Impressions

Well, the Realme X2 is a decent smartphone with very tiny rooms for improvement. High end processor, flexibility in storage, blazing fast charging speeds, and the crisp clear display is just so satisfying. The camera isn’t all that bad as well. The only complaint that I have is for the user interface provided by Color OS. But maybe it won’t be that much of a bother for everybody else. All in all, for the allocated pricing, it’s just worth each and every penny that you spend on it.

Now, should you choose the Realme X2 over Redmi Note 8 Pro? Well, that subjective to some key factors, I’d say. Because both the phones are quite identical to one another except for some key changes. If you were to ask me, I’d consider choosing the Realme X2 because of its slightly boosted processing power, Super AMOLED screen, in-display fingerprint sensor and 30W VOOC charging. On the contrary, some other may prefer the Redmi Note 8 Pro for its larger battery, better UI and lower pricing.
