Realme 12 Pro Overview
Design
The Realme 12 Pro has the same design as the Realme 12 Pro Plus with its vegan leather back with a diamond-patterned strap in the middle that runs across it and a watch-inspired camera module.
The camera circle includes a golden ring with 300 triangular grooves, known as the fluted bezel seen on wristwatches. Furthermore, the camera island has 500 gradient sunburst patterns, creating the sunburst effect seen on watch dials.
The phone is IP65 certified for protection against dust and water. The right side of the plastic frame has power and volume buttons. Likewise, the bottom side houses a SIM card tray, a mic, USB-C port, and a speaker.
The top side has a secondary speaker and a mic. The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the display.

Display
The Realme 12 Pro has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ curved AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support and up to 950 nits of local peak brightness.
Furthermore, it has 2160Hz PWM dimming technology to minimize eye fatigue in low brightness.
Hardware
The 12 Pro is equipped with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 (4nm). The processor has the same architecture as the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, but the four Cortex-A78 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores are clocked slightly lower at 2.2GHz and 1.8GHz, respectively.
In terms of memory, the phone comes with 8GB RAM paired with either 128GB or 256GB storage. The Realme 12 Pro has no microSD card slot for storage expansion.
Camera
Both the Realme 12 Pro and the 12 Pro Plus are the first Realme phones in the Number series to feature a telephoto camera.
However, the Realme 12 Pro has different camera sensors than the 12 Pro Plus; only the 8MP ultrawide cameras are the same in both. Specifically, the 50MP main camera with OIS uses the Sony IMX882 sensor, and the 32MP telephoto camera is limited to 2x optical zoom.
Regarding video capabilities, the rear camera can shoot up to 4K videos at 30fps, while the front camera can capture up to 1080p at 30fps.

The Realme 12 Pro is the younger sibling of the series, and along with the Realme 12 Pro Plus, it marks the first phones in the Realme Number series to feature a telephoto camera. Despite this commonality, they utilize different camera structures. The Realme 12 Pro uses a 32MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, contrasting with the 3x periscope zoom of the Pro Plus.
Furthermore, the Realme 12 Pro adopts the Sony IMX882 sensor for its main 50MP camera. Another distinction lies in the choice of processors, as the Realme 12 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, in contrast to the 7s Gen 2 in the Pro Plus. Nevertheless, the performance difference between the two should not be huge.
Apart from these variations, the Realme 12 Pro and the Realme 12 Pro Plus are identical.
