Oppo A3s and A7 are phones that play in different budget segments. The A3s is more of a budget smartphone, and A7 is supposed to be a midrange smartphone. Also, both these smartphones received different verdicts from us.
We absolutely liked the Oppo A3s while we thought the A7 was complete trash. But Oppo seems to have slashed the price of these two phones in Nepal. Does it affect our views on this phone? Let’s find out.
OPPO A3s
First let’s start with the Oppo A3s. The first thing we have to say is that the A3s definitely looks good for a phone under 20K. The 19:9 aspect ratio screen and the minimal bezels all make the phone look like it is more expensive than its price suggests.
Inside, the A3s is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 which is an entry-level chipset from Qualcomm. This processor works in tandem with the Adreno 506. Apps like Facebook and YouTube will run smoothly but the multitasking experience may suffer from 2GB RAM. As the internal storage is only 16GB (or 32GB), you’ll have to buy an external storage card the day you buy the phone.
So we liked the phone. It had dual cameras, a massive battery, and a beautiful teardrop-notch screen. Our verdict still holds. But I personally think, if you wanna spend on the 3GB model, there are better phones that deserve your cash. The phone used to cost Rs. 19490 for the 2GB version and 26590 for the 3GB model. But now, the 2GB version comes in Rs. 18490 and the 3GB version costs Rs. 24590.

OPPO A7
Now, let’s talk about the Oppo A7.
Oppo A7, on the outside, looks very similar to the Oppo F9. That’s understandable as the teardrop notch has become quite famous among smartphone buyers.
Oppo also degrades the excellent FHD+ 6.3 inches LTPS LCD display to an HD+ display. This lower-res display was a huge shocker considering the price. The design at the back now is matte and the colour scheme is better than before IMO. There is the no shiny geometric pattern at the back.
Oppo A7 Key Specifications

OPPO A7 Price in Nepal: Rs. 32,990
On the inside, the A7 uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 which is not as powerful as the MediaTek Helio P60 processor used in the F9. Remember, this is the same processor used in the less expensive A3s.
Also, the base storage is just 32GB. So, this phone was a let down when it first launched. It cost Rs. 35,790 at the time. Now it is available for RS. 32990. That’s nearly an Rs. 3000 price decrease. Does it make us feel any different about the phone though?
No. Of course not. When you can get phones like the Xiaomi Mi A2 or Nova 3i or Honor 8X or even the Pocophone F1, I don’t see why people should spend their hard earned cash on a phone that reuses the processor found on its budget sibling? But if you are an Oppo fan, go ahead and donate your money.
