It has been about 2 weeks since Oppo released the Oppo F11 pro. While that is great news, it probably isn’t the phone most of you’ll buy because of the price. But, Oppo has launched another phone now which is called the Oppo A1k, and it is a budget smartphone. The OPPO A1k price in Nepal is Rs. 17,590.
Oppo A1k comes with 6.1 inch IPS LCD HD+ dew drop notch display. This is a standard display resolution for phones at this price. However, Samsung Galaxy M20 does offer an FHD+ display around this price. The back of the phone is made up of plastic but I think it will be those new type of plastic that feels like glass. So, you will get a premium feel when you use the phone in your hands. Talking about the back, there is no fingerprint sensor on the phone. Is it under the screen? No. Oppo has gone the usual route of not including a fingerprint sensor in its budget phones. You’ll have to do with the face unlock method or a pin.

Oppo A1k Price in Nepal: Rs. 17,590
Inside, the phone packs a MediaTek Helio P22 SoC. This chipset is most comparable to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor. So, it is a powerful budget processor which will handle normal apps like Facebook and Instagram very well. Oppo A1k will ship with 2GB of RAM. This is not that large but for a budget phone, it will be fine. Just don’t expect super-fast and super-smooth multitasking experience. Or a good gaming experience.
At the back, Oppo A1k has an 8MP single shooter and at the front, there’s a 5MP snapper. We will have to test these cameras ourselves to give you a clear verdict about their performance. But I don’t expect much from budget smartphone cameras.

The phone ships with 32GB of internal storage. This is fine for most people but if you are someone who clicks photos all the time, you’ll have to spend some cash on a memory card. 4000mAh battery means that the phone will surely last you a full day of moderate use. If you are a light user, you might even last a day and a half with a full charge.
For Rs. 17,590, Oppo A1k would have been a good phone had this been 2018. But the budget smartphone scene has changed so drastically that 2GB RAM at this price is not acceptable anymore. And why is Oppo omitting features like fingerprint sensor when phones half the price are keeping it? We don’t know the answers. But please let us know your thoughts about this phone in the comments section below.
