Nothing Ear (stick) Overview
Design
The Nothing Ear (stick) has a cylindrical plastic case, but what makes this unique is its transparent plastic design. The bottom part of the case can be twisted to open or close the case.
The bottom side of one end of the case houses a USB-C port and a pairing button. The case is unfortunately not water resistant; the earbuds, however, have an IP54 rating.
Speaking of the earbuds, they are not fully in-ear designed, so they don’t have silicone ear tips. The buds rest just outside the ear canal similar to Apple AirPods, unlike other popular in-ear-design earbuds such as Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and Apple AirPods Pro.
Because of this design decision, the Nothing Ear Stick’s passive noise cancellation would not be as effective as that of other in-ear models.
Audio Features
Each earbud has a 12.6mm custom dynamic driver. It brings a Bass Lock feature where the software detects bass loss and optimizes the equalizer curve.
The earbuds support press control. It would play, pause, answer, or hang up calls with a single press, while a double press would skip the song forward or reject calls.
To skip back, you can triple-press the earbud. If you press and hold the left earbud, it will lower the volume. Likewise, pressing and holding the right earbud will increase the volume.
You can access all the settings if you have a Nothing Phone (1) without having to download its Nothing X app. All the settings and features, including EQ adjustments, customizing gestures, Find My Earbud, and more, are directly integrated into the Phone (1).
Furthermore, it has an in-ear detection feature.
Battery and Connectivity
The earbuds are rated to have up to 7 hours of listening time and up to 3 hours of talk time on a single charge. Combined with the case, Nothing claims the buds can have up to 29 hours of playback and 12 hours of talk time.
The case has a USB-C port for charging. 10 minutes of charging would give 8 hours of playback, according to Nothing.
The buds support Bluetooth 5.2, which supports SBS and AAC Bluetooth codecs. The buds can be connected to both Android and iOS devices.
To control the Nothing Ear Stick from devices other than Nothing smartphones, download the Nothing X app mobile application, which is free to download from Google Play and the iOS App Store.

The Nothing Ear (stick) is Nothing’s second audio product, but it carries the brand’s unique transparent design with red accents. The earbuds, however, lack an in-ear design and silicon ear tips. The case has a cylindrical shape with a twistable bottom that will open or close the case.
It has a 12.6mm dynamic driver on either side and a dynamic bass control feature called Bass Lock. The earbuds can be connected to both Android and iOS devices via Bluetooth. Furthermore, Nothing Ear (stick) charges has a rated playback time of up to 29 hours, combined with the case.
