Motorola Razr 50 Overview
Design
Motorola Razr 50 is a clamshell foldable arriving in Beach Sand, Koala Grey, and Spritz Orange colours. It can be submerged in water, up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes. Even though dust and ingress remain Public Enemy No.1 to this phone. In other words, this phone is IPX8 rated.
It has a frame made out of 6000 series high-strength aluminium and a rigorously tested hinge in between. The lower half of its back has vegan leather giving it a premium feel, while the upper half dons the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protecting the smaller cover screen.

Display
Talking of the cover screen display — it is a 3.63-inch LTPS pOLED that goes around the two camera cutouts and the LED flash. However, this screen maintains a decent gap with the hinge, which is patched with vegan leather like the rest of the bottom half.
Other than that, it maintains a resolution of 1,066 x 1,056 pixels while offering a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. Given that it is an LTPS panel, it likely only switches between 60 and 90Hz of smoothness. Similarly, you get a touch sampling rate of 120Hz, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, and 1,700 nits of peak brightness.
Moving on to the inner screen, we have a 6.9-inch LTPO pOLED panel with FHD+ (1,080 x 2,460 pixels) resolution. You get a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120Hz, peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits, and 120% DCI-P3 colour coverage. Likewise, it also offers a superior touch sampling rate of 220Hz, which can go even higher (300Hz) when in game mode.
Both screens have a pixel density of 413PPI. Meanwhile, Motorola says the crease on the Razr 50’s inner screen is near invisible — thanks to their redesigned hinge.
Hardware
The processor on this phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X. This chipset is pretty much the same as the regular Dimensity 7300, except it is specifically optimised for dual-screen devices.
The other device that featured this processor was the peculiar Lava Agni 3 — a regular bar phone with a secondary screen on the back. This phone in India costs as low as INR 20,998 right now.
This means that the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X is a proper midrange silicon, making the Motorola Razr 50 a midrange folding phone. That being said, this phone is not even in the same league as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 in terms of performance.
Additional hardware on this phone includes up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB UFS 2.2 storage. However, the Nepali market will only be getting the lower 8/256GB model.
This phone is also capable of 8GB RAM Boost but there is no storage expansion option.
Cameras
The imaging department on the Motorola Razr 50 is led by a 50MP main camera with OIS. Meanwhile, a 13MP ultrawide snapper serves as the auxiliary lens. Furthermore, this lens also doubles down as a macro shooter.
Likewise, it has a 32MP sensor on the front for selfies.
Motorola has employed Moto AI on top of all this camera hardware. The AI helps you with things like stabilisation, photo enhancement, and autofocus tracking.
Additionally, this phone’s quirky foldable form factor makes photo/videography even more interesting!
Battery and OS
For power, this phone relies on a 4,200 mAh battery. Charging-wise, you get 30W wired and 15W wireless charging support.
The Motorola Razr 50 boots on Android 14 with the company’s My UX skin on top. This phone lets you do almost everything on the cover screen, which includes running Gemini, social media, and even games.
Furthermore, it supports ecosystem-like features with Windows computers, such as file drag and drop and screen mirroring. It also comes with MotoSafe to protect your files and phone from external tampering.
Lastly, it utilises Moto AI in wider ways like syncing wallpaper according to your outfit and the Magic Canvas feature which generates images with text prompts.
Motorola Razr 50 Price in Nepal and Availability
Motorola Razr 50 will likely arrive in the Nepali market sometime in January. The price of the 8/256 GB trim is expected to be Rs. 109,999.
If this turns out to be true, it will be the cheapest folding phone in Nepal — taking the crown from Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 which costs Rs. 1,54,999.
Meanwhile, Tecno Phantom V Fold2 5G is set to be the most affordable bookstyle foldable.
Motorola Razr 50 | Expected Price in Nepal |
---|---|
8/256GB | Rs. 109999 |
While the Motorola Razr 50 might be the cheapest foldable in Nepal, you’re only getting a midrange-level processor for what it’s worth. Sure, Samsung’s offering is far ahead in performance, but honestly, it’s more than enough for the average Joe just looking to enjoy the folding phone experience.
