Recently during the launch event of Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro in India, Mi India also announced the latest iteration of MIUI, the MIUI 11. And since then many people including me, have been checking their phones every single hoping to get the update notification. Just when it was starting to get depressing, the official dates for updates were revealed.
As per the dates, the countdown for MIUI 11 officially starts the day after tomorrow. Mi India had revealed that they will be rolling out the Global Stable version for MIUI 11 on 22nd of October in India. Since, Mi Nepal has been selling the Indian variant of Xiaomi phones in Nepal, the updates are expected to arrive in Nepal as well.
We had a talk with the officials of Xiaomi here in Nepal and they’ve said that, even though the date has not been confirmed yet, the updates are on their way and will be arriving in Nepal soon. We speculate that Nepal should get the new MIUI update in parallel to India. Let’s hope for the best.

The updates are scheduled to be launched in different phases for India, whose order should be the same in Nepal as well. Here’s a list of those devices that will be receiving the updates.

Firstly, MIUI 11 introduces the Always-On display that looks truly gorgeous. A wide variety of kaleidoscope and rhythmic wave dials changes the outlook of the Always-On display completely. Aside from that you can also personalize the screen with personal signature which could comprise of phrases, statements or basically anything else.
A Breath of Life
MIUI 11 brings the entire screen to life with its new animations. Tasteful effects of getting notifications, unlocking the screen and new app drawer transitions brings an entirely different feel to the device.
Redesigned UI
The Re-designed UI adjustments bring in some interesting customization to MIUI 11. Dark Mode, Milan Pro: The new font and dynamic sound effects are the absolute best UI features of the MIUI 11.

Improved App Drawer
With MIUI, the device features new and improved applications. The gaming feature on the MIUI 11, Gaming Toolbox 2.0 allows user to switch between networks, block messages, answer calls without interrupting gaming. The Women’s health section records and keeps track of menstruation cycle.
Health features keep track of steps taken, distance walked, calories burned and so on. Additionally, tasks, calculator, note, calendar and Mi Doc viewers have also been improved significantly.
Quick Replies and Mi Share
The quick reply feature allows users to send messages while watching videos, reading or swiping through the news feed. And lastly, the Mi share app can be used to share photos, files or even app to other phones effortlessly.
