MG Comet EV

MG Comet EV is the most affordable MG electric car in Nepal.

It is powered by a 31.26 kW PMSM Electric Motor. It generates a max power of 42PS and a max torque of 110Nm, capable of a top speed of 100Kmph. Moreover, it is supported by a 17.3 kWh Lithium ion Battery pack and an ARAI claimed range of 230 km. Moreover, it can fully charge in 7 hours with a 3.3kW AC charger.

It excels in short daily commutes, offering effortless maneuverability in traffic. Its compact size makes city driving stress-free, while features like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay enhance convenience.

Feature-wise, it showcases an “Eco-Futuristic Styling” with a Quad-LED setup, Slim DRLs, 12-inch Steel Wheels, a gigantic C-pillar, and a Touchscreen Infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in the interior. It also includes a Digital Instrument Cluster and Fabric Seats. Safety-wise, it comes equipped with Dual Airbags, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), ABS+EBD, and a Rear Parking Sensor.

MG4 EV

The Comfort variant gets a 51kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery with a 350km claimed range. Moreover, it can fully charge in 7.5 hours via the 7kW AC Charger. Similarly, the Deluxe variant gets a 64kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery with a 450km claimed range. Moreover, it can fully charge in 9 hours via the 7kW AC Charger.

The MG4 EV offers excellent value for money, delivering a well-balanced mix of performance, features, and efficiency.

It handles well, making city drives and highway cruising enjoyable, while its decent driving range ensures practicality for daily commutes and longer trips.

MG ZS EV

MG ZS EV is the highest-selling MG vehicle in Nepal, available in Standard and Long Range variants.

The Standard Range is powered by a 99kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). It generates a max power of 134PS and a max torque of 280Nm. Moreover, it gets a 51kWh Ternery (NCM) Battery with a 320 km WLTP claimed range. Moreover, it can be charged from 0 to 100% in around 8 hours and 36 minutes with a 6.6 kW AC Charger.

Similarly, the Long Range is powered by a 115kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). It generates a max power of 156PS and a max torque of 280 Nm. Furthermore, it comes with a 72.6kWh Ternery Battery with a 440 Km WLTP claimed range. Moreover, it can fully charge in around 7 hours and 30 minutes via the onboard 11  kW AC Charger.

However, its interior design feels outdated, and the infotainment system struggles with lag. Additionally, opting for the long-range variant comes at a significantly higher cost.

The MG ZS EV competes directly with the BYD Atto 3, with both offering strong value through their unique features.

However, the Atto 3 holds an edge with its industry-leading Blade battery technology. On the other hand, the ZS EV benefits from a more practical 6-month service interval, while the Atto 3 has drawn criticism for its shorter 4-month interval.

Nevertheless, the MG ZS EV will not be available for the Nepali market after being replaced by the MG S5 EV.

MG S5 EV

MG S5 EV is the successor of the ZS EV.

MG S5 EV is powered by a 99 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that produces a max power of 135 PS and a max torque of 250 Nm. It offers two Lithium Iron Phosphate battery options. The 49.1 kWh battery delivers a WLTP-claimed range of 340 km. Using a 7.2 kW AC charger, it charges fully from 0 to 100% in about 8 hours. Whereas, the larger 62.2 kWh battery extends the range to an impressive 430 km under WLTP standards. Using the same 7.2kW AC Charger, it fully charges the larger pack in 10 hours.

It benefits from an all-electric platform, ensuring optimized efficiency and performance. The thin battery pack delivers strong efficiency, while its aggressive pricing makes it a compelling choice in the segment.

Feature-wise, it is built on an all-electric platform called Modular Scalable Platform (MSP) and features Projector LED Headlights with Slender DRLs, Split Air Intakes, 18-inch Alloy Wheels, and Panoramic Sunroof on the exterior and a 12.8-inch Touchscreen Infotainment system, 10.25-inch Digital Instrument Cluster, Leatherette Seats with Front Heating and Ventilation, 6-Speakers and Climate Control in the interior. Safety-wise, it comes equipped with Six Airbags, ADAS, an Electronic Parking Brake, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, and a 360-degree Camera.

However, it has reduced motor capacity, subpar seating material, and the base variant lacks a 360-degree camera.

The MG S5 EV rivals the BYD Atto 3, offering similar performance and battery capacity. Its thinner battery pack may provide an edge, though real-world impact remains uncertain.

Unlike the Atto 3’s Front-Wheel Drive, the S5 EV’s Rear-Wheel Drive enhances uphill and rough-terrain capability. With the S5 EV, MG has strengthened its position in the Nepali market.

MG Cyberster

MG Cyberster EV is the flagship vehicle of MG Nepal.

MG Cyberster is powered by a 400 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). It generates a max power of 544 PS and a max torque of 725 Nm. It is supported by a 77 kWh Ternary Lithium Battery with a 443 Km WLTP range. Moreover, the charging time from 0 to 100% is around 11 hours and 20 minutes with a 7.2 kW AC Charger. Under fast charging conditions, it can reach 10% to 80% capacity in around 45 minutes.

Moreover, it offers 4 different riding modes: Comfort, Custom, Sport, and Track.

The MG Cyberster stands out with its astonishing power figures, feature-rich cabin, and eye-catching design, making it a true head-turner on the road.

Feature-wise, it is built on an all-electric platform called Modular Scalable Platform (MSP) and features Projector LED Headlights, a Convertible Roof, 20-inch Alloy Wheels, Scissor Doors on the exterior, and a Gaming Theme Interior, 10.25-inch Digital Instrument Cluster, 7-inch Flank Displays, Heated and Ventilated, 8-Speakers and Climate Control in the interior.
