Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Overview
Design
The e Vitara boasts a sleek design that blends contemporary EV aesthetics with the rugged charm of Suzuki’s SUV heritage.
Its front fascia exudes a muscular and dynamic presence, combining boxy and curvy elements.
The Y-Shaped LED DRLs are integrated with the LED projector headlamps, while the iconic Suzuki logo takes center stage between the two headlamps.
The SUV’s sloping roofline tapers into a thick and angular C-pillar, adding to its aerodynamic appeal. The dual-tone finish further enhances its side profile.
Depending on the variant, the e Vitara rides on either 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels, offering ample ground clearance for diverse terrains.
At the rear, the design is clean and minimalistic, featuring connected LED taillights that echo the styling of the front headlamps.
Inside, the e Vitara adopts a modern monochrome theme. The dashboard is decorated with a soft-touch leatherette-like material upon which vertically stacked AC vents are given.
The central console features a sleek blacked-out panel housing a rotary gear selector knob and an Electronic Parking Brake button.
A two-spoke steering wheel with physical controls enhances driver convenience, while a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch infotainment screen share a unified bezel and are positioned nicely within the driver’s line of sight.
Performance
The Maruti Suzuki E Vitara is rumored to offer both Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) options.
The RWD variant comes equipped with a 100 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, delivering a maximum power output of 144 PS and a peak torque of 189 Nm. This setup is supported by a 49 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack.
Moreover, there is also a 61 kWh LFP battery pack available with both RWD and 4WD configurations.
The RWD version with this battery features a 125 kW motor, producing 173 PS of maximum power and 189 Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, the 4WD configuration utilizes a dual-motor setup, achieving a combined 186 PS of max power and 300 Nm of max torque.
In terms of range, the 49 kWh battery pack offers an estimated driving range of 480 km, while the 61 kWh unit extends the range to approximately 560 km.
These figures are based on the Modified Indian Driving Cycle (MIDC) and may be optimistic. In real-world conditions, the range could decrease by up to 35% compared to MIDC estimates.
The 4WD variant includes a “Trail Mode,” designed to help the vehicle tackle challenging terrain. This mode serves as Suzuki’s interpretation of a Limited-Slip Differential, dynamically distributing power to the wheels based on their traction requirements.
Additional Details
McPherson Strut and Torsion beam handles the suspension duties.
The dimensions are 4275 mm in length, 1800 mm in width, and 1635 mm in height. Moreover, the wheelbase is 2700 mm.
The ground clearance is 180 mm. And, the kerb weight is 1702 Kg to 1899 Kg depending on the variant.

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is set to compete against the BYD Atto 3, the trailblazer in the electric SUV segment.
Although its entry into the EV market comes somewhat late, the e Vitara benefits from growing consumer acceptance of electric vehicles, even in markets like India, where EV adoption is gradually expanding. In Nepal, where EV penetration has surged in recent years, the e Vitara presents itself as a compelling option.
When compared to the BYD Atto 3, the e Vitara holds its ground in terms of styling, performance, and interior features, showing no signs of being inferior.
However, BYD enjoys an established reputation in the Nepali market, largely due to its industry-leading Blade battery.
Despite this, the e Vitara can leverage the prestige and reliability associated with its ICE predecessor, giving it a strong foundation to capture consumer interest.
As Maruti Suzuki’s first EV, the e Vitara raises questions about how it will fare in terms of specifications and ride quality when compared to the Atto 3, crafted by the global leader in electric vehicles.
While we await official details and driving impressions, the e Vitara undoubtedly remains an exciting vehicle to watch in the evolving EV landscape.
