Impressions
Huawei Y5 2017 is a low-range budget smartphone. Looking through the spec sheet, the phone might not seem as impressive compared to its competitors. MediaTek T6737T is a decent processor for its price tag supported by a 4GB RAM. This will let the device run normal tasks smoothly. The Mali-t720mp2 graphic processor isn’t ideal to run heavy games. But, it will run the latest titles with modified settings.
The device features a disappointing camera. 8MP rear camera and 5MP front-camera on a 2017 device are unacceptable. This affects the pictures and video quality. Also, this phone runs on outdated Android Marshmallow on top of outdated Emotion UI.
Given the price tag, there is no place for complaints. Huawei Y5 will work as your daily driver for normal tasks. If you want your smartphone to do more, you have to look elsewhere for a costlier smartphone.
