Huawei Freebuds 5 with ANC Launched in Nepal

Seems like Huawei is really targeting the Nepali accessories market with new launches in both the smartwatch and earbuds industry. Enter another member to their list of new products: the Huawei FreeBuds 5.

Huawei markets its Freebuds series as a TWS that offers a stylish design, incredible sound quality, ANC, and impressive battery life. They did announce the Freebuds 4 and Freebuds 5i in Nepal before and have now introduced the latest one to the mix.

Huawei FreeBuds 5 Overview

Design

The Huawei FreeBuds 5 are encased in an egg-shaped case. The earbuds look futuristic featuring a long stem and have no silicone tips. They are of similar design to Apple’s AirPods.

Weighing only 5.4g each, the earbuds are lightweight. The case is equally compact and lightweight, at just 45 grams.

The buds are IP54-rated and support touch controls.

Features

The Huawei FreeBuds 5 comes with an 11mm audio driver. The company claims that the earbuds are 30% more sensitive at low frequencies compared to the last gen, and produce bass as low as 16Hz. For context, the average human can only hear above 20Hz frequencies.

The diaphragm has reduced resistance allowing for more airflow which boosts bass and Open-fit ANC 3.0 has been adapted to tune out external noise.

There are three mics that work in tandem to cancel out the noise actively. There’s also AI Call Noise Cancellation that uses DNN (Deep neural network) algorithm to enhance voice and reduce background noises during calls.

The TWS earbuds support touch controls such as double-tap, swipe up or down, and tap & hold.

Furthermore, the earbuds feature Adaptive EQ that adjusts the sound based on fit, wearing status, and volume level to ensure a more rich and fuller sound experience, or so Huawei claims. The earbuds are HWA and Hi-Res certified and support up to 990 kbps transmission.

Battery and Connectivity

Each earbud has a 42mAh battery, while the case comes with a 505mAh battery. Together, Huawei claims they can provide up to 30 hours of playback with Noise Cancellation Off and 20 hours with it turned on.

As for charging time, Huawei has claimed a 20-minute charge time for the earbuds and 40 minutes for the case while empty. The case also supports wireless charging, however, it’s quite long at 240 minutes.
