Honor is a Chinese smartphone brand majority owned by a state-owned company in Shenzhen.
When the Android Ban hit Huawei, they were unable to sell phones in the global market as they lacked Google Services. For this reason, Huawei decided to sell Honor to prevent both companies from sinking. Initially, Honor was a sub-brand of Huawei but after parting ways in November 2020, they now run as independent companies.
Most of its products have similar specs to Huawei phones but they come with more exciting designs and cheaper price tags. Honor 200, Honor 200 Pro, Honor Magic 6 Pro, Honor Magic V2, Honor X9b, Honor 90, and Honor X8b are some of its major smartphones.

The display of the phone supports a 90Hz refresh rate, which is commendable for a budget phone. However, the HD+ resolution and TFT LCD panel may prove the display to be just average.
The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio G36 chipset. It is an entry-level chipset with Cortex-A53 cores. It may provide decent performance for basic tasks but do not expect it to be great. Paired with the processor is 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
There is a dual camera setup on the back comprising a 50MP main and a 2MP depth sensor. Only the primary camera is usable and the videos can be shot at up to 1080p@30fps. As for selfies, the phone has a 5MP front-facing camera.

- Impressive set of cameras
- Good performance
- Great battery life
- 66W fast charging
- Good speaker
Cons

The Honor 90 is a sleek phone that features two large rear camera modules positioned vertically. The design is quite unique and the camera modules feature a chrome ring around them. The back of the phone has a glossy top and a diamond matrix textured bottom (only in the diamond silver color).
The display is where this phone truly shines. It’s a curved OLED that refreshes at 120Hz and can reach a peak brightness of 1600nits. What truly stands out or maybe doesn’t? is the 3840Hz PWM technology. This is the first phone to feature this and the display is basically considered flicker-free which helps in reducing eye strain while using the phone.
Under the hood, the Honor 90 is equipped with an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor which has been boosted slightly. The graphics are handled by the Adreno 644 and the phone is available with 12GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage. The phone absolutely breezes through daily tasks and is also a smooth gamer.
The triple-camera setup on the Honor 90 comes with a huge 200MP f1.9 primary camera. This is one of the highest MP counts we’ve seen on a phone but the ultrawide on the other hand is pretty tame at 12MP f2.2. Finally, the 2MP depth sensor is pretty redundant as it’s there to assist the other lenses. On the front, you get a 50MP selfie shooter.
