Honor has launched the Honor 50 Lite in Nepal. It was initially announced by the company back in October 2021.
The Honor 50 Lite price in Nepal is Rs. 34,999 (8/128GB). It is available for purchase via Honor authorized stores across Nepal.
The company launched its smartphone in Nepal after almost two years. The Honor 50 Lite is a rebranded Huawei Nova 8i that comes pre-installed with Google Mobile Services.
If you are unaware, the United States of America has banned Huawei from doing business with any American organisation since 2019. Due to this, Huawei spun off its sub-brand Honor in November 2020 to ensure the sub-brand’s survival.
As a result, Honor smartphones continue to come with Google Mobile Services, but Huawei devices do not.

Display
The Honor 50 Lite features a large 6.67-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution. Unfortunately, it is limited to the standard 60Hz refresh rate, with no support for a higher refresh rate.
The display’s top and side bezels are thin, lending the phone a sleek appearance. The pill-shaped cutout in the top left corner, on the other hand, may not be to everyone’s liking.
Hardware
The device is equipped with a Snapdragon 662 chipset. It’s an outdated chipset announced in January 2020 by Qualcomm.
The SoC is an octa-core processor with 4×2.0 GHz Kryo 260 Gold CPU cores and 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 260 Silver CPU cores. For the GPU, it has Adreno 610.
For the memory, it comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Camera
The Honor 50 Lite has quad cameras in a ring-shaped setup. The setup comprises a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.
In the pill-shaped cutout, it has a 16MP front-facing camera. Both the front and the back camera can shoot video up to 1080p at 30fps.
Battery and Others
Fueling the phone is a 4300mAh battery and it supports 66W fast charging. Honor claims it can charge from 0% to 40% in 10 minutes.
Furthermore, it runs on Magic UI 4.2 on top of Android 11 OS. Unlike Huawei, it does come with Google apps pre-installed.

The Honor 50 Lite is a rebranded Huawei Nova 8i. The design and specs are all the same on the two, except for the colour options.
The Honor 50 Lite has a good design with very minimal display bezels. However, the pill-shaped cutout can be distracting and seems unnecessary for a single front camera.
Additionally, since the phone comes with an outdated Snapdragon 662, performance is not its strongest selling point.
