CB Hornet 160R is one of the most popular sports bikes in Nepal. Nepali youths have been a major fan of its aggressive yet macho look. Competing against the release of latest revamped bikes (like Pulsar 150 TD and Apache RTR 160 4V), Honda has decided to relaunch new CB Hornet with few redesigns and new extra features.
Syakar Trading Company, the official distributors of Honda products for Nepal, has unveiled the bike for the public. Honda’s CB Hornet 160R Special Edition price in Nepal is Rs. 2,99,900.
Honda Hornet 160R Overview
CB Hornet is powered single cylinder carburetor engine with 162.71cc displacement. The engine performs like the previous 2017 iteration of the bike. It gives a max power of 15.09PS at 8500rpm along with a max torque of 14.5Nm at 6500rpm. Equipped with a 5-gear speed box that has the top speed of 115km/h. The overall design aspect remains true to its Hornet DNA. Likewise, tank capacity, fuel mileage, the suspension remains the same.
However, it does come with new features that drastically improving riders’ safety. Hornet gets a dual disc brake, with Combined Braking System (CBS). Though Hornet also comes in ABS variation, it is unclear if it will launch in Nepal. Another list of features includes a better grip of tires and new seal chain. Moving on, there are few new design elements. It gets a new headlamp redesign which now comes with full LED lights and hazard lights, and new body graphics.
CB Hornet 160R is available in five new colors: Green on Grey, Orange on Grey, Blue, Red, and Yellow.

It is common for motorcycle brands to face-lift the old design to make it more appealing to the new market. We have already seen Bajaj, Yamaha, and TVS launch the face-lift version of their best-selling motorcycles. But Hornet brings something new to the table with improved braking, new color schemes, and redesigned headlamps. The muscular, edgy design makes it more stylish and aggressive. Although now, the improvements are rather incremental than genre-redefining. I did love some of the changes like new color schemes, hazard lights, and most of all dual-disc brakes. I hope Honda launches the “ABS variant” as well to the Nepali market, making the life-saving technology more accessible to the public.
However, Honda is still reluctant to include “Kill Switch” for a change. This may shift the tide towards the competition. Pulsar NS160, Apache RTR 160 4V does come with an engine kill switch and more affordable than Hornet. Nonetheless, riders will get the true Hornet experience.
