HiFuture HiGear Review
Design
HiFuture HiGear is made out of premium material as it uses stainless steel band and stainless steel watch case. It comes in two colors: Black and Silver. The one I used is the black variant with orange lettering on the exterior of the watch case.
The build quality feels solid and the watch looks premium but I’ve got a problem with the orange lettering. It totally ruins the premium aesthetics of the watch.
Moving on, you will need to get the steel strap adjusted if you want it to fit tight on your wrist. And a tight fit on smartwatches is important if you want to track heart rate, blood oxygen level, and more. They should have included a silicon strap in the box just for this purpose.
HiGear doesn’t feel too big or too small. Its size feels appropriate for both men and women. The watch comes with an IP68 rating as well, so you do not need to worry about water damage.
The steel watch case features three buttons on the right. The power button is in the middle whereas the other two buttons act as shortcuts for heart rate and workout tracking. Underneath, it has two magnetic slots for pogo pin charging.

Display
HiFuture HiGear comes with a 1.3 inch LTPS touch display with a screen resolution of 240 x 240. The display quality of the HiGear feels average but the brightness is below PAR. Indoors, the brightness is good enough but the brightness is not ideal for outdoor usage.
You do get a flick to wake feature on the HiGear. Along with that, you can have 5 watch faces installed on the device at a time. There are additional 50 watch faces that you can install via the OnGear app.
Performance
HiGear uses RealTek RTL8762 CPU along with 160KB RAM and 64MB storage. The performance is not smooth as the smartwatch is oriented for endurance rather than smooth performance.
You will feel that the watch is slow when you are browsing menus and tinkering with various workout modes. On top of that, HiGear doesn’t allow you to store music as it only has 64MB of storage.
Fitness Tracking
HiGear has a heart rate sensor, blood oxygen sensor, gravity sensor, and a pedometer.
Heart rate and SpO2 sensor measure your heart rate, blood oxygen level, and blood pressure in 10 mins interval. Along with step counting, the smartwatch supports sleep monitoring as well.
The sleep analysis is not as in-depth though. It will provide you a sleep score and let you know the amount of deep sleep and light sleep.
You can check all of the tracking records via the OnGear app.
As for workout tracking, it comes with 8 workout modes: Walking, Running, Hiking, Cycling, Swimming, Basketball, Elliptical, and Yoga. This is good enough for starters but the availability of workout mode is not great for its worth. As for tracking, it will measure your heartbeat and calories burned during the workout.

Battery
HiFuture HiGear comes with a 295 mAh battery. The battery will last for 6-7 days if you use monitoring and notification alert. The standby time is pretty good at 25 days.
So, the battery is really good on the HiGear but the charging clip is finicky. The charging clip can easily dislodge from its place.
Connectivity & OS
HiFuture HiGear uses Bluetooth V5.0 with a standard range of 10m. I did not face any issue with the connectivity but you will need to use the OnGear app to pair the watch. It took me almost half an hour to figure out the pairing as it doesn’t give you clear instructions when you boot up the smartwatch.
As for OS, it is not clear which OS the HiGear is using. It uses the OnGear app which you can download from the play store. It is compatible with both iOS and Android.
The OnGear app is pretty simple and easy to navigate. You can see your workout records, heart rate records, sleep quality, and all the other data.
You can sync mobile notifications onto the watch as well and it has a call reminder feature too. However, you cannot interact with notifications or answer the call. Furthermore, you get remote music control and a remote camera shutter option.
Should You Buy It?
For Rs. 19,999, HiFuture HiGear is a premium-looking watch with decent tracking. It features a SpO2 sensor as well which is a nice addition for the price. Along with that, it can easily last a week.
But, you do not get a storage option and the display is below par when it comes to outdoor usage. On top of that, it needs improvement on the software side. It is not flexible and you do not get many options when it comes to settings.
HiGear is an average smartwatch with good build quality and good health tracking features. But, it lags behind the other smartwatches in terms of fundamentals like display brightness, storage option, and OS.
