Nepal’s First CUV Ford Freestyle Launched in Nepal; Price Starts at Rs. 26.99 Lakhs

GO Automobiles, the official distributor of Ford vehicles in Nepal, has launched Nepal’s first Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV) – Ford Freestyle  –  in Nepal. Featuring an SUV-like robust design, Ford Freestyle inbuilts a powerful engine with many versatile features. The pre-bookings and test rides of the vehicle are open at all the official showrooms of Ford vehicles in Nepal.

Ford Freestyle is available in two engine specifications as 1.2L petrol engine and 1.5L diesel engine and four featured variants as Ambiente, Trend, Titanium, and Titanium+. According to GO Automobiles, before the official launch of this CUV, the company organized a test ride session offering its customers to test drive the Ford Freestyle variant of their choice. And, as per the customer reviews, the company estimated the price of the CUV for the Nepali market. The Ford Freestyle price in Nepal for the base variants is Rs. 26,99,000.

The all-new Ford Freestyle is powered by 1.2L petrol and 1.5L Diesel engine variants. Having a maximum power of 70.79 kW at 6500 RPM and 74 kW @ 3750 RPM on petrol and diesel variant the vehicle produces a torque of 120 Nm @ 4250 RPM and 215 Nm @ 1750-3000 RPM respectively. The transmission of the vehicle is held by a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The exterior of the vehicle is designed by black upper/lower Grille Mesh and black Headlamp Bezel. The Bold Grey exterior mirror and black front fog-lamp ornamentation make the Freestyle look attractive. The interior of the vehicle is furnished by charcoal black color combination with a 5.8 cm instrument cluster containing a Trip computer, Fuel warning light, Water Temperature warning light, Tachometer with Gear-Shift indicator and Battery Monitor sensor with Maintenance warning display.

For safety and security measures, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution(EBD) is marked standard in all Freestyle variants. Similarly, it consists of 6 Airbags with 3-point seat belts both at front and rear to reduce human damage on crashes. Other features like Seat Belt reminder- Driver and Passenger, Door Ajar Warning, Reverse Parking Sensor, Perimeter Anti-theft alarm and rear view camera enhances the safety features of the vehicle.

Ford Freestyle runs on R15 Alloy wheels and Steel wheels with metallic roof rails. The bold and sporty exterior of the vehicle complements its premium interiors. The SUV-rivaling ground clearance and sporty suspension eases the handling on potholes and corners. The vehicle is available in 6 color shades as White Gold Metallic, Smoke Grey, Oxford White, Moondust Silver, Canyon-ridge and Absolute Black.

The Ford Freestyle has addressed some issues back from Ford Figo with the added ground clearance. The interior of the vehicle could have been made better and spacious. One big miss in Ford Freestyle doesn’t  comes in the Automatic Transmission variants. Similarly, many of the issues with the Figo have been carried over to the Freestyle including the low quality plastics, old-school instrument cluster design, cramped rear cabin space, no rear door pockets, etc. have not been rectified.
