Nepali PUBG Mobile team DRS Gaming had a standout performance at the 2022 PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC 2022) grand finals, earning a runner-up finish and a cash prize of USD $200,000.
The three-day in-person tournament, which concluded on January 8, 2023, in Jakarta, Indonesia, featured some of the best PUBG Mobile teams from around the world competing for a share of the $1.5 million prize pool.
DRS Gaming scored a total of 158 points, with 70 eliminations and 2 chicken dinners (WWCD), putting them just behind the champion team S2G Esports from Turkey, who scored 190 points with 93 eliminations and 1 chicken dinner. S2G Esports took home the trophy and a cash prize of USD $400,000.
The Brazilian team Alpha 7 finished in third place, winning a prize of $120,000 with 156 points and 77 eliminations. GodLike Stalwart and IHC Esports secured fourth and fifth place, respectively. GodLike Stalwart had 156 total points with 77 eliminations but no chicken dinners, while IHC Esports scored 144 total points with 74 eliminations and 2 chicken dinners.
Another Nepali squad, Trained to Kill (T2K), also reached the grand finals of the tournament, finishing in thirteenth place with 112 total points and a cash prize of $22,500.
PMGC 2022 Individual Awards Winners
In addition to the regular prize pool, individual awards were also presented to players who excelled during the grand finals of the 2022 PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC 2022).
Player TOP from the Mongolian team Godlike Stalwart was given the Final MVP award and the Gunslinger award, while Wwx from the Chinese team 4 Angry Men, which finished in eighth place, received the Eagle Eye award.
Sand3shS from Nepali team T2K was awarded the Grenade Master award, and FlukeTH from Thai team Vampire Esports, which finished in sixth place, received the Field Medic award.
Additionally, as a token of appreciation for their participation, each of the 16 competing teams at the 2022 PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC 2022) grand finals received a participation reward of USD $20,000.
