DJI is the world’s leader in commercial and civilian drone industry, accounting for over 70% of the drone market. Many drone enthusiasts believe that DJI makes some of the best drones in the world. And they also believe that the Mavic 2 Pro is the best drone DJI has to offer. So, drone enthusiasts in Nepal will be happy to know that the DJI Mavic 2 Pro is finally available in Nepal for the eye-watering price of Rs. 210000.
Apart from the camera, the Mavic 2 Pro and the Mavic 2 Zoom are identical. Both retain the same foldable design as the original Mavic Pro, but they’re slightly bigger and heavier now. That heaviness is due to a larger battery that gives these devices up to 31 minutes of flight time and the ability to travel and track objects up to 45 miles per hour.
The most important addition to the Mavic 2 Pro is the new sensors giving the Mavic omnidirectional obstacle avoidance. Not only that, the ActiveTrack 2.0 can predict where you’re going to go. For example, now the Mavic 2 pro will go around a tree branch that it encountered and continue tracking you. This was not the case with the previous Mavic Pro.
One of the new features in the drone is Hyperlapse but the hyper-lapse video is not stabilized and it maxes out at 1080p. I mean, GoPro Hero 7 Black can take 4K hyper-lapse videos.
For the Mavic 2 Pro, DJI partnered with high-end camera-maker Hasselblad to build a camera with a one-inch sensor. That’s four times larger than the image sensor on the Zoom. So, the image quality is a good leap above the Mavic 2 Zoom. The Pro can also shoot 10-bit 4K Dlog-M at 100Mbps (I don’t know what this means).
The Mavic 2 Zoom costs Rs. 185000 in Nepal while the Mavic 2 Pro costs Rs. 210000. The price difference is Rs. 25000. The photo and video capability that the Mavic 2 Pro offers over the Mavic 2 Zoom might convince most people to buy the 2 Pro over the 2 Zoom. However, if you are just getting into drones, you might be safer starting out with something smaller like the DJI Tello or the DJI Mavic Air.
Customers who would like to order the Mavic 2 Pro can do so through this link. Olizstore is the seller of these drones and they have stated that they will do a free delivery all over Nepal for this product. If you live outside Nepal and want to gift this to someone, you can do so as Olizstore accepts VISA/Mastercard payment.
