Over the years Colors has managed to release smartphones in the low-tier category and somehow managed to survive in this section only. The Pride series from Colors is mostly the only section that’s managed to keep the dream alive. Well, a new addition dubbed under the name Pride 7s with quirky features has just been brought into the market.
This particular specimen has been placed in the market for a price of Rs 8,499. There’s something quirky features of this phone that in particular separates it from the flock of lambs that we’ve been seeing in the low-tier budget segments.
So, At 8,499, does the Pride 7s have what it takes to become a hero? Well, let’s get back to that once we browse quickly through its specifications.
A Quick Browse Through Color Pride 7s Specifications
The Colors Pride 7s is pretty basic when it comes to design. Plastic framework designed in a minimalistic approach gives it a look that’s subtle yet appealing. At 5.45”, the phone is pretty large but apparently it won’t able to shake off the huge bezel at the top and bottom in this price segment.
Unsurprisingly, the 5.45” display is still an IPS LCD Panel that’s been given a Dragontrail glass protection. What’s surprising is the 2.5D curved edges on the display. Apparently, extending the display all the way to the sides, now even allows you to swipe on the edge with no troubles at all.
Underneath the hard glass exterior, the Pride 7s comes armed with a 1.3Ghz Quad Core processor; supported by a 3/32GB internal layout. Right out of the box, the phone comes in with Android 9 which I sure hope is quite minimal considering its processing capabilities. Over to the rear, we have a dual vertical AI camera setup with the primary spotlight being on a 13MP sensor. The latter is a 2MP shooter most probably for depth sensing. Switching to the front, under the huge top bezels, we have a 5MP AI Selfie camera.

And last but not the least, keeping the entire device alive is an adequate 3000mAh battery. Adequate in the sense that it should last you perfectly well for most of the day. Taking into consideration, the quad core processor and 3GB layout, it all boils down to how heavily you use it. With moderate usage, keeping the device alive the entire day is quite possible. There’s no fast charging of any sorts, so charging the device will be a pain.
One small design change, (that I’ve managed to save for the last) is that the phone comes in with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometrics.

Colors Pride 7s Price in Nepal (3/32GB): Rs 8,499
So, is Colors Pride 7s Really Worth it?
Honestly, I guess it is. It’s not something that I haven’t seen in the market, it’s just a little different that others from the same price segment. And it’s good in a different way. The lower budget segment is a dull category, it doesn’t have that much surprise and yet Colors Pride 7s caught me with a surprise. The side-mounted fingerprint scanner and curved edges are something that I enjoyed knowing about.
Though nothing else is entirely that different, these unique traits have made the Pride 7s a little bit more interesting than the rest. I really did wish that the battery capacity would’ve been just a bit more cause the phone doesn’t have fast charging at all. So, increasing the capacity a bit more would’ve made it a lot more acceptable.
