For less than 9 thousand, you are getting a pretty decent phone. I know, the specs might not bes as good as other more expensive phones out there, but come on what can you expect.

You are getting a 5 inch IPS screen and a combo of 13MP and 5MP camera on the exterior side. I am really impressed by the camera, which for this price point, even if on paper, is well beyond good. So, if I had a low budget for purchasing a phone, I would certainly consider this device.

The specifications might not sound very appealing on paper. But when you consider that you are getting this for a sub 8 thousand price, this is great. Come on, you spend 8 grand on a couple of fancy dinners. Why not get a mobile phone instead.

But seriously, you are getting a quad-core processor and a gigabyte of RAM, which would honestly be more than enough for users who are not into power-hungry tasks. Sure, the CG Omega 3 might struggle with tasks such as gaming but for daily usages such as surfing the internet and watching media, this smartphone will be just fine. There are people who are reluctant to spend huge bucks on smartphones because even if they spend more than 50 thousand, they are just going to end up using it for surfing Facebook. The camera too is not that very impressive but again, it might only get the job done. So, this may be a great deal for a lot of people.

The nearest competitors to this phone are Colors S11 and Colors Pride P85. None of these phones have dual cameras on the back. None of these have such huge batteries. CG OMEGA 6 decimates the competition on paper. So, here comes the difficult question: Should you buy it? If you are very tight on your budget and cannot spend a rupee more than 10K then, yes, you should buy it over other options. But if you can be a little flexible with your money, there are better options in the price range 10K – 15K that offer at least 2 GB of RAM and possibly more storage and a larger battery that would better suit your needs.

CG Omega 8 looks impressive when it comes to design. The 18:9 aspect ratio bezel-less display will provide users with an immersive experience. Even though the screen resolution is only HD, it should be adequate for a 5.5-inch screen.

The available hardware resources should be more than enough for usual tasks like internet browsing, multiple apps switching, and normal games. But, it will struggle with heavy games such as Asphalt 8 and PUBG. The 3000 mAh battery should hold up for more than a day. Given that it has an HD screen, it’ll need fewer resources to push the pixels. Hence, it will need less juice to do so. The 13 MP rear camera and the 5 MP front camera should perform pretty decent. I mean, we do not expect much from a budget phone under 13k, do we?

I have to say, I am quite impressed by this company. I didn’t know there were this good phones from CG and I am proud that they have it. CG is a new player in the smartphone game, and making this good smartphones this early in the game is very impressive. In coming days, when CG comes up with more expensive smartphones, maybe they will be a great contender in the market. They might be a potential threat to the now-leaders like Samsung, Huawei, and Xiaomi. So, I expect a lot  from this company. Maybe partly because it’s a Nepali Company?

Among all the phones, I like the CG Omega 8, because, honestly, this time I wanted to go with the best one there is. But even though the Omega 8 is the most expensive phone in their lineup, it still is very budget-friendly and gives you a great value compared to smartphones from other companies.
