29th ICT Exhibition ‘CAN InfoTech 2024’ Starts Today

The Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN Federation) held a press conference on February 1, 2024, to unveil the dates for the CAN InfoTech 2024 expo. Marking CAN’s 29th ICT exhibition, the event is set to begin from February 8 to February 12 at the Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall in Kathmandu.

For attendees, the entry ticket fee is Rs. 100 for the general public and Rs. 50 for students, available through InfoTech’s ticketing partner, eSewa. However, entry is free for senior citizens, differently-abled individuals, children below 10, and groups of observers from government and community schools.

The expo will feature new technologies and products within the realm of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

CAN President Ranjeet Kumar Poddar says, the exhibition will play a crucial role in fostering the digital development of Nepal by showcasing advancements and expansions in the technology sector.

In addition to branding, ICT accessories, and product launches, visitors will find a diverse range of offerings at CAN Infotech, including IT career counseling at the student pavilions, startup and innovation pavilions, and software pavilions. CAN emphasizes the promotion of Nepali innovation, talent, and startups, providing Nepali startups with a stall free of cost in the innovative and startup pavilion.

The exhibition has support from various organizations, including the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, the Department of Information Technology, the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Confederation of Nepalese Industries, Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), and Subisu cablet net.

International backing comes from the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO), WITSA (World Innovation, Technology and Services Alliance), and Toa Software Corp.

For those unable to attend in person, CAN InfoTech 2024 can be experienced virtually through infotech.can.org.np. With over 120 out of 90% of the stalls already booked, CAN anticipates over 350 thousand visitors throughout the 4-day expo.

After the conclusion of the CAN InfoTech exhibition in Kathmandu on February 12, 2024, the event is set to be held in all seven provinces of Nepal.
