I don’t know how much of a hit Blackberry was in Nepal. Nepal’s market was almost entirely captured by Nokia. But Blackberry was a big deal internationally. Nearly all businessmen and businesswomen used this as their preferred handheld device for its comfortable keyboard and fluid performance. But like Nokia, Blackberry is not the most successful brand today. However, it still manufactures some phones of its own. Among them, Blackberry Evolve and Blackberry Evolve X will be coming to Nepal after Dashain. Though Blackberry has officially announced its presence in Nepal, they are yet to launch their products. The first phones they will be launching are Blackberry Key 2 and Key 2 LE in Nepal, which are expected to be here before Dashain.
Blackberry Evolve and Evolve X are normal smartphones. Means, they don’t have the physical keyboard Blackberry is famous for. These were manufactured and launched in India. Notable features of the device include a large six-inch Full HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio LCD screen with 500 nits of peak brightness, a massive 4000mAh battery, and Blackberry’s amazing build quality.

Blackberry Evolve X ships with 6GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 inside. This is the one of the most powerful mid-range chip in the market. Combining it with 6GB RAM means a fluid multitasking performance. The device will be able to handle everything except the cruelest gaming sessions. The phone packs 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. At the back, the BlackBerry Evolve X has a 12-megapixel (f/1.8) + 13-megapixel (f/2.6) primary camera and a 16-megapixel front shooter at the front.
The Blackberry evolve comes with 4GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SOC inside. The phone packs 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB using a micro SD card. For the cameras, the BlackBerry Evolve has a 13-megapixel (f/2.0) + 13-megapixel (f/2.0) dual shooters on the back while the phone has a 16-megapixel shooter for your selfies.
While these devices are not flawed in themselves, their prices surely make them. The Evolve X costs INR 34,990 and the Evolve costs INR 24,990. The Evolve X comes with features similar to the Xiaomi Mi A2 that costs NRs. 31000 in Nepal. The Blackberry Evolve itself may not come at that price. We don’t know who will buy these phones except the most devoted Blackberry fans when they launch in Nepal.
