We are testing out the new Bajaj Pulsar N250 in this first ride.
When Bajaj Auto first unveiled its brand new Bajaj Pulsar 250, we had mixed reactions. It didn’t follow the past Pulsar styling with many expected features completely missing.
Just strictly looking at the spec sheet, both the Pulsar N250 and Pulsar N160 felt undercooked.
However, we changed our minds after reviewing the new N160 just a few months ago. And, the N-Series indeed manages to set benchmark for future Pulsars.
With the price tag of Rs. 4.89 Lakhs, it is a very enticing 250cc Pulsar.
In this first ride impression of the Bajaj Pulsar N250, we will strictly look at its specs and features.

Bajaj Pulsar N250 Overview
Design
Built on the “sculptural purity” principle, Pulsar N250 sports a tone-on-tone dynamic with metalized dual colors and satin silver components.
There are aesthetic similarities with the F250.
However, the front section and the rest of the styling are common with N160. The front section sports a robotic headlamp housing along with an aggressive and sportier stance.
It features a bi-functional projector LED headlamp with neat LED DRLs. Moreover, it also includes the iconic rear twin LED tail lamp shared by both Pulsars.
Other similar elements include a chunky engine cowl, split-seat setup, and split-type grab rails.
Furthermore, it also shares the all-new infinity analog-digital instrument cluster.
While Bluetooth connectivity is absent, it does get additional information like Gear Position, Clock, Range Indicator, and Fuel Efficiency.
However, there is a key difference between the two N250 and N160. Along with the badging, the Bajaj Pulsar N250 sports a LED Indicator and a Dual-Port Exhaust.
Additionally, Bajaj Pulsar N250 is available in one color: Brooklyn Black.
Performance
Bajaj Pulsar N250 is powered by the all-new 249.07cc, Single-Cylinder, 4-stroke, 2-valve, oil-cooled SOHC FI engine. It can generate a max power of 24.5PS at 8750 rpm and a max torque of 21.5Nm at 6500 rpm.
Moreover, it is mated to a 5-speed gearbox with Slipper Clutch!
The new engine is BS6-compliant right off the bat. So, the side stand engine cut-off is standard.
It is a very different engine, not borrowed from the Dominar 250 or the Pulsar 220F. Nevertheless, it is equipped with the Oil-Cooled DTS-i System as before.
There are no gimmicks. It is the new Pulsar, bigger and better.
Sitting on it for the first time, you’ll feel right at home. Moreover, the sitting posture is very reminiscent of the old Pulsars.
The new improvements become more apparent when you turn on the engine. It sounds amazing, and roars very differently than the past Pulsars.
And, that classic Bajaj grunt is still present.
Like before, it excels in mid-range.
But I am noticing wider torque present across the rev range. It was previously absent in past Pulsars.
It seems like the classic Pulsar, but better.
But that is just a hypothesis at this point. We will only know for sure in the Full Review!
There are three things I will keep an eye out for Gearbox, Cooling System, and Tyres.
I still think it deserves a 6-Speed Gearbox with Liquid-Cooling and a Radial Tyre. I will see if that is necessary or not in the Full Review.
Additional Features
Bajaj Pulsar N250 features Dual Disc Brakes with Dual-Channel ABS.
The dimensions are 2017 mm in length, 804 mm in width, and 1060 mm in height. Moreover, the wheelbase sits at 1358 mm.
Bajaj Pulsar N250 has 165mm ground clearance. And, the kerb weight is 162 kg.
It gets 17-inch tyres with a 100/80-section at the front and a 130/70-section at the rear. Unfortunately, there is no Radial option.
