In the meantime, we hope to keep our readers occupied with our Bajaj Dominar 400 Test Ride Article. As always, we will follow this up with our Bajaj Dominar 400 Full Review Video and Bajaj Dominar 400 Full Review Article.
So, stay tuned for that! Anyways, let’s start to talk about the beast that is Bajaj Dominar 400.
2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 First Ride Review
Taking inspiration from Ducati Diavel, it was initially supposed to be called Pulsar 400 CS. It is one of the sportiest and (dare I say affordable) motorcycle out there. As for the pricing, 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 price in Nepal is set at Rs. 5,29,900.
In comparison with the old model, Bajaj Dominar is Rs. 60,000 more affordable! Think about it!
You get improved power, refined performance, and extra features for Rs. 60K less! How is that even possible?!?
Trust us, we will get to the bottom of this for our Full Review.
2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 Design Updates
Bajaj Dominar comes in two different colors: Aurora Green and Vine Black.
Among those two colors, we got to test out the iconic Dominar 400 in Vine Black. Honestly, the Vine Black looks so much better than the newly launched Aurora Green.
While the old-gen Dominar was already a beast in itself, there was a certain room for improvements.
Surprisingly, Bajaj was open to criticism. With that, they launched the 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400. In this new update, Dominar brought, everything that it could, to the table. Moreover, they refined the engine, updated the design, and put a few improvements here and there.
Don’t worry, we will cover the difference between the old Dominar and the new Dominar extensively. For now, let’s go through those quickly.
2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 comes with a new set of premium mirrors, fatter USD front fork with covers, new secondary display, slightly redesigned headlamps, new dual-port muffler, robust side-stand, and “Dominar” logo between the seats.
Before this, I did ride the old-gen Dominar. Compared to that, the new-gen is slightly heavier and slightly wider with the new bar-ends.
Besides those new changes, everything else feels pretty familiar. It comes with the same muscular design, aggressive looks, same all-LED lights, and the same power-packed performance!
2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 Performance
Talking about the performance, Bajaj has reworked on this engine, which is now more refined and livelier than ever!
Before we talk about my experience, let’s take a quick look at the spec sheet.
2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 is powered by a 373.3cc Single Cylinder, Liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4V, Triple Spark, FI engine. Moreover, it can generate a max power of 40PS at 8650rpm and 35Nm at 7000rpm. Yes, the overall power output is 2PS more!
Moving on, it is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with Slipper Clutch! Furthermore, it comes with dual-disc braking with dual-channel ABS. Likewise, the fuel capacity is 13-liter.
Interestingly, 2019 Dominar 400 comes with a reported top speed of 156kmph, which is slightly higher than before.
2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 Features
Honestly, I don’t want to overhype much of this. But for the price of Rs. 5.29 Lakhs, Bajaj Dominar comes with enough features to make our mouth water.
Okay, there is plenty of features to talk about. However, let’s talk about five new key elements for being.
Twin-Barrel Exhaust: You get a twin-barrel exhaust with grumbling exhaust note which gives it an extra edge on the overall look and feel.
New Mirrors: You get a new mirror design with drastically improved design. Moreover, you get it in cast aluminum!
USD Forks: You get a 43mm USD Front Forks, replacing the dated telescopic suspension.
Secondary Display: This one is my favorite! You get an informative secondary display with Gear Position Indicator, Trip meter, and Time.
Improved Performance: You get an overall more refined engine, increasing the overall power output!
Being the flagship, you’ll get the best of everything. You’ll get one of the largest disc brakes: 320mm disc up front and 230mm disc at the rear. Top that with 6-speed gearbox (with slipper clutch), Dual-channel ABS, modern Fuel Injection, triple spark engine, monoshock suspension, and radially-mounted brake calipers.

2019 Bajaj Dominar 400: Mero Experience
I rode the new 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 for just an hour or so. Hence, this experience is based on that. However, I will dive deeper into the Full Review.
Starting off, the exhaust in this bike sounds kickass! Forget about CX and Crossfire dirt bikes, the exhaust note in the new 2019 Dominar could rival them all! It comes with more grunt and bass-heavy sound.
With its one of a kind thuds, literally, everyone will know that you are riding the new Dominar.
Seriously, my amazement continues on with itsperformance as well. The gear shifts are smooth as butter, throttle response is precise, and the pickup… good god, the pickup!
I kid you not. With the pickup in this thing, my adult male pillion rider cried out like a little girl!
Honestly, the pick up is to die for! Moreover, it doesn’t really matter if you are in 1st, 2nd or 3rd gear, the pickup is always exhilarating!
However, Bajaj Dominar 400 is a tourer. It means that it is built for longer rides rather than quicker rough riding. Despite this, it is interesting to see it pack such performance at this price.
Again, I have only ridden the new Dominar for an hour or so. So, I need some extra moments to dive a little deeper.
However, even during the short ride phase, I can already feel if the large sculpted tank along with its heavier weight might play a little difference in the overall handling, cornering, and comfort.
