After the launch of performance-oriented scooter SR 150, it portrayed Aprilia into a new light. It wasn’t just another Italian brand like Vespa. Aprilia is all set to do what it did to the scooter segment last year. The only difference is that this time it makes its way into the dirt bike segment with the latest two new motorcycles.
D-Lifestyles, the authorized distributors of Aprilia bikes in Nepal, has officially launched the all-new SX 125 and RX 125. The launch event took place at Himalayan Hotel just a few days ago. Imported straight from Italy, both SX 125 and RX 125 price in Nepal is set at Rs. 7,99,900. In a surprising twist, both motorcycles come with a 125cc engine.
The best-in-class ENDURO and SUPERMOTO can now be yours. You can test both motorcycles at Aprilia’s Lazimpat Showroom. For more information and book for the test ride, please call at 01-4423131!
Aprilia SX 125 and Aprilia RX 125 Overview
Aimed for young, sporty and demanding riders, SX 125 hosts a single cylinder 125cc, four-stroke engine. Aprilia has perfected the performance of the four-stroke engine while complying with Euro 4 standards. Both 300mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc is assisted by double-piston floating caliper. Furthermore, the double cradle steel frame is coupled with oversized telescopic suspension. It adopts 17-inch spoked wheels with a wide channel to maximize drip under any conditions.
RX 125 has an uncanny resemblance to its sibling SX 125. Without the badges, you might just confuse one with the other. It’s not just that, the description for both off-road bikes in the company’s website in the same. Hence, the suspension, engine, chassis, and safety features are the same.
If the price can be the same, why not the description, eh? But then, why two bikes? Well, RX 125 is more oriented for a true off-road experience. Meaning it is lightweight with a larger 21-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear wheel. So, SX 125 will give you a mix of both on-road riding and off-road riding.
The instrument cluster is another piece of sophisticated equipment onboard the SX 125 and RX 125. In addition to common functions, you get features like a travel diary, top speed recorder, battery voltage, and trip meters.
Safety Features
Aprilia is currently highlighting its safety features to justify the price. Because of its unique segment-first safety feature, we are going to explain it a bit more. These bikes will be the first in its class to feature Dual Channel ABS and Anti Roll-Over (Yaw Control & Traction Control). The dual-channel ABS (Antilock Brake System) prevents the locking of wheels under panic situations. As for Anti Roll-Over mode, it is more than just magic. It bases your front wheel angle to tell the system where you want to go. Then, the system distributes power to the individual wheels to make that happen. It comes into play especially in a wet or slippery road, preventing skidding. Frankly, its like magic and you’re going to love it!

Aprilia grabs the attention with its unique design and attractive color scheme. But will it be enough to grab your attention? Yes, the safety features are one of its kind. But riders look more than just safety features in a bike. Excluding the segment-first safety feature, it’s just a 125cc engine. That’s not its only fault.
Another major thing to worry about is the price, it comes with a pretty hefty price for a 125cc machine. One of the reasons for the substantial price tag would be the import tax. Since both RX 125 and SX 125 is imported from Italy, there is bound to be an import tax. This might ultimately affect the sales in the Nepali market. However, strongly considering the fact that the 125cc segment has seen a surge in popularity from brands like Yamaha and Duke, it wouldn’t be out of the place to buy one for yourself.
