Features
Its predecessor Huawei FreeBuds 4 was the world’s first open ear design earbuds with active noise cancellation (ANC). Huawei FreeBuds 4 comes with the same open-fit design but has improved the ANC with Open-fit ANC 2.0 technology. Huawei says that the upgraded ANC technology has improved noise cancellation at the hardware and software levels.
The earbuds feature dual-microphone noise cancellation technology to deliver enhanced noise cancellation performance. To optimize noise cancellation for different wearing situations, the FreeBuds 4 also utilize Adaptive Ear Matching (AEM) technology for the first time. When noise cancellation is activated, the earbuds automatically detect the user’s ear shape and adjust the noise cancellation settings accordingly.
The Huawei FreeBuds 4 are equipped with a 14.3mm dynamic driver and utilize a Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) composite diaphragm to support a frequency range of up to 40 kHz, resulting in high-resolution sound quality.
In comparison to the FreeBuds 3, the FreeBuds 4 have improved airtightness and acoustic pressure, as well as a 15% increase in the volume of the bass tube. According to Huawei, this provides a stronger resonance effect from the air and diaphragm for enhanced audio performance.
Battery and Connectivity
The Huawei FreeBuds 4 feature a 30mAh battery in each earbud, and according to the manufacturer, they are capable of providing 4 hours of continuous music playback with ANC turned off.
When paired with the charging case, which has a 410mAh battery, the earbuds can offer a total of 22 hours of music playback. When ANC is turned on, the FreeBuds 4 is able to deliver 2.5 hours of continuous music playback.
The Huawei FreeBuds 4 charging case can be easily charged using the USB-C port. According to Huawei, a quick 15-minute charge will provide 2.5 hours of audio playback.
These earbuds also offer Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and the ability to connect to two devices simultaneously. To access additional features and control the functions of the earbuds, you can install the Huawei AI Life app from the Huawei AppGallery Store.
