Along with the Honor X7 and Honor X8, the third X-series phone Honor X9 also launched in Nepal on June 22, 2022.

Celltron Nepal, the distributor of Honor for Nepal, brought the Honor X-series phones to Nepal.

Of the three phones presented, the Honor X9 is the most expensive one. However, all three phones are powered by the same Snapdragon 680 chipset. There is also the Honor X9 5G variant, but there is no news on its availability in Nepal.

Design

The Honor X9 has a huge circular camera design on the back and the Honor branding. Similar to the Honor X7 and X8, it is also available in three colors: Ocean Blue, Midnight Black, and Titanium Silver.

Likewise, the right side has a power button above the power button. The power button doubles as a fingerprint scanner. On the bottom, there’s a SIM card slot, a microphone, a USB-C port, and a speaker.

Interestingly, the earpiece is located on the top side near the display. Unfortunately, it does not function as a secondary speaker.

Display

It features a large 6.81-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with up to a 90Hz refresh rate. The display has a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera.

The top and side bezels are minimal, while the chin is bigger. The company claims that it has a screen-to-body ratio of 94%.

Hardware

Powering the Honor X9 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G chipset, which is based on a 6nm process node. All three Honor X series phones (Honor X7, X8, and X9) come with the same SoC.

The chipset has four “big” Kryo 265 Gold (Arm Cortex-A73) cores running at up to 2.4GHz and four “LITTLE” Kryo 265 Silver cores (Arm Cortex-A53) cores running at up to 1.9GHz.

The device has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

Camera

The circular bump on the back houses four cameras: a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth camera.

The selfie camera is 16MP with an f/2.5 aperture lens. The phone is capable of shooting 1080p video at up to 30fps.

Battery and OS

The phone is fueled by 4800mAh. It supports 66W fast charging, which, according to Honor, can charge the phone from 0% to 81% within 30 minutes.

The Honor X9 runs on Magic UI 4.2 based on Android 11.
