Samsung has launched other two A series device in China. Now, there are so many devices under the ‘A’ family that even we (the ones who write about tech for a living) are starting to get confused. It feels like Samsung is dumping every smartphone design that their designers came up with and experimenting with the market. But whatever the reason for this frenzy, customers are getting more choices than ever. And that’s a good thing.
The two new phones that Samsung launched were: Samsung Galaxy A60 and Samsung Galaxy A40s.
Samsung Galaxy A60
Samsung Galaxy A60 looks like Samsung Galaxy A8s that Samsung released in December of 2018. It has a punch hole display similar to the one found on S10e. But here, the camera cutout is on the left side. It comes with 6.3 inch FHD+ IPS LCD display. This is an odd choice since most of the phones in the A series have AMOLED screen. There is not much else to say about the design except that the fingerprint sensor is still at the back.
Inside, Galaxy A60 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor. This is paired with 6GB RAM. So, you won’t be compromising in performance with this phone. Multitasking experience will be smooth. You’ll only notice the un-flagship characteristic of this device when you play the most demanding games at the highest graphics settings.

There are 3 cameras at the ba: A 32MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP depth-sensing camera with f/2.2 aperture. It offers a 32MP camera at the front for the selfies. A 4,500mAh battery provides life-juice to the phone.
Samsung Galaxy A40s
Samsung Galaxy A40s is a rebranded Galaxy M30. Really, there’s no change at all. A40s comes with a 6.4-inch FHD+ Super-AMOLED screen. There is a regular fingerprint scanner at the back.
Inside, Exynos 7904 SoC, a capable midrange processor, runs the show. It will be accompanied by 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There are 3 cameras at the back: 13MP primary shooter, 5MP ultrawide sensor, and 5MP depth sensor. Another striking feature of this phone is its big 5000mAh battery.
These smartphones were launched in China, so I don’t know if they will arrive in Nepal or not. Most probably, they won’t. But if they do, these will be great additions to the already comprehensive midrange smartphone market of Nepal.
