Dell has been creating awesome budget gaming laptops for last three years. Dell 7559, Dell 7567, and Dell 7577 have been a great choice for budget-friendly gamers. These laptops are astonishingly good for its price tag and are almost a bargain. Unlike Alienware, this lineup from Dell focuses on providing best gaming experience in a budget.
As a result, Dell 7577 was included in their arsenal recently and now the G3, G5, and G7 are the latest inclusion with 8th Gen Intel Processors. Dell launched these affordable laptops in the month of April 2018 and two months later Dell G7 and G3 are now available in Nepal. The base variant of the Dell G7 is priced at Rs. 1,58,000 and the base variant of the Dell G3 is priced at Rs. 1,51,900 in Nepal.
Dell G7 and G3 Overview
Dell G7 15 7588 is the best among the new gaming laptops from Dell. Dell has decided to ditch the red accent on their new laptops; instead, you will find a toned down blue accent on the new laptops. Dell G7 7588 has almost the same chassis as the Dell 7577 and it’s very good. However, to keep the laptop under budget, Dell has used cheap plastic for their new G series.
Dell G7 15 7588 comes with the all-new 8th Gen i7 8750H and GTX 1060 Max-Q. As you might already know the 8th Gen processors are more efficient and powerful than the previous generation and it’s obvious that these laptops will have a significant performance boost. However, this laptop comes with an underclocked 1060 which might hinder its overall gaming performance.
Both of these laptops come with a 15.6-inch FHD 1902 x 1080 IPS display that is fairly good. It’s obvious that the screen isn’t that impressive due to its price tag but it’ll get the job done for most of us.
Currently, the Dell G7 15 7588 comes in two configurations in Nepal. One of them is kitted with a 1060 Max-Q and the cheaper one comes with a GTX 1050Ti. And, they are priced at Rs. 1,89,900 and Rs. 1,58,000 respectively.
Likewise, the Dell G3 3579 is also a similar laptop to the Dell G7 15 7588 but has a more compact chassis. As of this writing, Neostore and SastoDeal have listed Dell G3 3579 with an i7 8750H and GTX 1050. But, there is no such configuration listed by Dell’s official website. If it has an i7 processor then it must have the GTX 1060 Max-Q or the 1050 Ti.

What’s the difference between G7 and G3?
Dell G3 comes with 2 CPU options: i5-8300H, I7-8750HQ, whereas the Dell G7 in addition to these has an i9-8950HK CPU option. Similarly, Dell G3 doesn’t come with GTX 1060 Max-Q. It only has 1050 and 1050 Ti as the GPU options. Other than this, Dell G3 is much smaller and lighter in terms of the size. Also, it has less game vibe to it as there are no afterburner grills and no Thunderbolt 3 port. It’s almost a cheap XPS 15 that is less fancy as well.
Well, these laptops have to be the most affordable gaming laptops right now in the market. Internationally, the price for Dell G3 starts at $749 and the most expensive Dell G7 is priced at 1049$. It’s clear that these laptops are overpriced in Nepal; up to the point that they can no longer be called a budget gaming laptop. 1050, i7 variant of G3 costs 1,54,000 NRs and for this price tag, you could easily get laptops with GTX 1060 and 7th gen i7. Also, instead of Dell G7 that costs 1,89,900, you could get a laptop with GTX 1070 for the same price.
